How to exit order order online delivery pop up and navigate to a different page

Currently on mobile when you navigate to the Order Online menu, the "Enter delivery address" pop up is shown (I only offer local delivery). If the user does not enter their address and would like to navigate to another page, there is no way for them to do that. There is no close pop up button, the hamburger menu is not available, they have no way of exiting the menu page, they are simply stuck there and can't do anything unless they provide their address.

 

On desktop, there is no way to get ride of the delivery pop up to click on the other navigation menu links. Clicking back in the browser changes the background page but the pop up wont go away. 

So once a user navigates to the menu, if they do not enter an address, they are stuck and cannot navigate to any other pages on the site.

Hey @lusbuttermochi.  This sounds like a setup issue.  If you go to your online dashboard > Account & Settings > Fulfillment > Pickup & Delivery, you should see a screen like mine below.  From what you are describing, you seem to only have “Delivery” toggled on and “Pickup” toggled off.  Just turn off delivery and turn on pickup.  Then close your browser and go back to your online store again.  That should fix the problem.

Thank you for the guidance! However, I am unable to actually offer pickup.

I only offer local delivery.

Do you have any idea on how I may remedy this issue while still only allowing local delivery to be the fulfillment option?

Hi @lusbuttermochi.  Ah.  There is no way to have that pop up be dismissed.  Since Square must know the address to correctly calculate the delivery fees as well as ensure that the customer is in your delivery zone, this is a required item and Square requires it to even start a transaction.  I’m curious — why wouldn’t you want a customer to enter their address since (if they are not in your delivery zone) you wouldn’t want them wasting time in your store?

 

Otherwise, you can head to the Ideate Board to submit a feature request.  You’ll definitely want to make your case here to convince Square it is a good idea to have this option.  Also, remember that feature requests are not going to result in immediate fixes.  They start a process that usually lasts months if not years.

 

Lastly, you can head to the Square App Marketplace and look for third-party apps that integrate with Square that might give you this kind of local delivery experience.
