How can I get a shipping address from the customer if I use a buy button?
I have used the simple buy button. How can I require the buyer to enter an address?

Hi Crile,
Do you have a Shipping Profile setup for your item and what method is checked under Fulfillment ?

Thanks for the reply. I am a bit out of my depth here! I have a website and I am starting to sell some simple merchandise - starting with stickers that I can simply put in an envelope and mail. I came across Square, reopened an account I had created quite a while ago, and discovered "online checkout" which let me simply paste some code into my HTML to get a Buy Button. But the Buy Button does not seem to support gathering shipping information.
Maybe I am not in the right place - perhaps Square is only suitable for POS applications?
Thanks for any thoughts.

I'm probably not the one who can walk you through all the steps however and there's multiple ways to sell your items - one option (and this is what I've done) is setup a free Square online website to sell your items. We have a web site that describes what we do, there's FAQs, About Us, Contact Info and lots of photos of the items we make. We linked out Square online site to our website and simply created a Shop link. When the customer clicks on the shop link, they are taken to our Square site whereas they can purchase items and take advantage of the Shopping Cart feature. The Checkout function collects all the necessary customer info including their shipping address. There is a learning curve however, if you keep things simple, it's not difficult and there is a lot of Square info out there that can provide guidance. See this info.
Buy Now Buttons are not the same as a Shopping Cart and work well if you are selling a single item however, if you have a few items, then the Shopping Cart is what you need.
Hopefully some other Community Members can offer additional thoughts that can help get you going.

Very helpful - of course I should just do that! Would be nice to have them stay on my site but the buy button would have taken them to Square anyhow....
Thanks again.
