Feature Request: Show/Hide SKU on Product (and other) Pages.

We sell subassembly parts to our customers,  We desperately need for SKU information to be available for them to see on a Per-Item basis.  I'm already aware of the 'work around' to add the SKU to the item name.  I feel like this is a terrible option as increases the chance of making a mistake with regard to data entry, it needlessly clutters our already sometimes lengthy product names, and it also diminishes the visual appeal of the site.  We can't put the SKU in the description either as we have many 'items' with several variations (each with its own unique SKU)

Please consider adding this feature soon.
