Domain transfer from Square

Hello,

I have just transferred my domain from Google to Weebly and I am having second thoughts. The email associated with that account is not longer working and there is no help in sight. I want to transfer back to Google so I can maintain that email as Weebly does not offer me the email forward option and I have been using that email for a while now. How will my website address show in that case? Is that too much hassle to trans fer back? In a way, I regret the entire process.

HI, domains can be a pain to understand.  When domains are purchased with a domain provider, it can stay there for the life of the business.  You requested a full transfer to Square which can take up to 14 business days.  Yes, this will affect the email address because now the domain has changed providers.  I believe once a transfer is in process, it needs to follow through.

Was your email a gmail.com?  If so, you can do email forwarding within the Google dashboard.

Hope This Helps!

Thank you. The email has two parts to it. Let me see if I can explain eloquently. I had a regular gmail. I bought the domain and later created and alias for that domain and that was forwarded to the regular @gmail account. Once I transferred the domain to weebly/sqaure, that alias stopped working all together. Google says it is a feature for people that have domain with them, which makes sense. Now I have not been able to receive any email from that account since Sunday. And I am freaked out.  So, I just need to sort it out. At the moment, I cannot justify a monthly subscription to have an email, since weebly appears not to offer such an option for free. It sucks. Does ti make sense?

HI, I understand you used a .com email address for your website.

When you requested a transfer it did affect the email address.

You could have done a forward .com, meaning the .com would not mask the .square.site URL and you could use the Free Plan for as long as you needed and then upgraded as your business grows.

When a domain is hosted at a domain provider, you can do all these features at the domain provider.

To use a .com on Square a Paid Plan is required.

Domains are a pain to understand.

Hope This Helps!
