Data Source / Feed URL for Pinterest Merchant Catalog

Hello,

Can someone tell me the URL (or how to figure it out) for the XML feed of my Item Catalog?

I have the integration setup with Facebook Shops, and I see the "SquareCatalogSyncDirectUploadXMLFeed" in my Facebook Business Commerce Catalog correctly.  So, it is working there.

I want to try using that same XML Feed for setting up a Pinterest Merchant Catalog in their Business Hub (https://www.pinterest.com/product-catalogs/data-source/) but I cannot seem to find the URL for the feed on the Square side / my site.

That's all I really need is that URL.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Hey @JoyAndJenny,

I reached out to our E-Comm specialists and it actually doesn't look like we have that information to provide since this is backend Facebook stuff that we don't have access to.

Your best bet is going to be to reach out to Facebook to see what options you have here.

Hi @ashc

Thanks for replying and for reaching out to your E-Comm specialists about this.

I've looked at the Facebook side of the setup, and I don't see any details on the exact Url that it is accessing on the Square system / our web site.  It just shows me that "SquareCatalogSyncDirectUploadXMLFeed" label that I mentioned in the initial post, but no additional details.

But I am sure that Facebook is accessing or being fed data from the Square system for our E-Commerce site.  Each time I make an update to an item in our Square Item catalog, it is automatically updated in Facebook without any additional steps on my part, which is amazing!

I cannot find any information here on Square regarding how exactly that is setup: whether Square is pushing an XML "file" to Facebook (as the name in Facebook's system with "Direct Upload XML Feed" implies) or whether Square is accessing an API on Facebook to make changes to the catalog housed in Facebook's system or possibly some other route.

I was hoping that the feed to Facebook would be usable for Pinterest, but since your E-Comm Specialists indicate that there is no such XML feed on Square, I guess it must be setup some other way that won't allow re-use for Pinterest or Ebay or other systems.

That's disappointing, since I will now have to look for other alternatives to either use the Square API to generate the feed myself or switch to a different ecommerce platform like Shopify or GoDaddy that does provide those feeds.

I appreciate you trying to find out about this for us.

Thanks,

Jeremy
