I recently had a customer claim that my Square store automatically changed his address to be delivered to…
he made the order placed it online shipping and billing address are the same along with phone number he put in and email
we shipped the order it was fine.
until he calls us six days after it was delivered and said it was delivered to the wrong address.
we explained we didn’t change your address we didn’t edit your address it’s as you entered it.
Now he’s all mad and blames my store or my Square online store for changing the address. Again we never edited anything he put in.
have any of you ever had to square online store automatically change the address of a customer?
my theory was that somehow his phone or computer he was using automatically changed the address or automatically filled it in for him he was overseas in Singapore at the time.

Hi @Flashoser! I'm sorry you're having to deal with this – it's always horrible when a customer blames you for something that's almost certainly not your fault and not Square's fault.
Square does not automatically change the address for a customer. Sometimes it will suggest an edited address if the one entered isn't an exact match for one in whatever database they use for validation. Usually this is because the customer entered "Avenue" but the database has it as "Ave.", or they suggest using the full 9 digit ZIP code. However, customers always have the option to use the address that was entered instead of the suggested address.
Since the address listed on the customer's receipt and on the order you received in Square is correct, then it most likely sounds like the delivery person simply dropped it off at the wrong address.

Nope it was not the delivery person that dropped it of at the wrong address, it was the address itself that it was delivered to..
And yes it was squares fault as the customer claims the website or system as he called it put in the wrong address..
He claimed the address that was on his order is not his...
