I want to create two subscription plans as follows:
- Plan 1 is $99/month
- Plan 2 is $125/month
I want to have a promo code that offers 50% off the first month billing only. This code can be entered in by the customer on the square checkout page.
I know how to create the payment links with monthly billing but I can't figure out how to apply coupon codes to them because they're not technically an item.
Thanks for your help!

Hey there @BlowoutOC. Unless I missed a recent memo, this is not currently possible. I’m pretty sure that this has been requested as a new feature for Subscriptions, but it would be a good idea to head over to the Ideate Board and submit yours for consideration.
I only know one workable work-around. You could create a coupon code that you could manually email to new subscription customers, for them to use on a future order. Just call it a “subscription thank you.”
If that’s not acceptable, my only other suggestion is to head to the Square App Marketplace.” There you will find third-party subscription apps (like Submatic, but there are others). Most of these are much older than Square’s which really just became usable a couple of years ago. I’d imagine one or more of them has this and other features you might want now.
Sorry not to be of more practical help.
