BEWARE: This new catering referral service called Bark. It is a scam.

Restaurant and catering-service owners, be on the lookout for sales reps asking you to be on this new platform from England called Bark.

Their user interface looks nice and professional, but from my experience, it is nothing but a bait-and-switch site filled with scammers.

Barks bombards you with (alleged) sales leads then asks you to buy expensive "credits" in order to contact the (alleged) lead. But almost all of the (alleged) leads -- even the ones Bark claimed had specifically asked me to contact them -- either never responded or acted as if they didn't know what I was talking about.

The clincher, which prompted me to cancel the service and send a complaint email to the New York State Attorney General's Office, was someone who contacted us through Bark supposedly wanting us to do an on-site catering gig for 120 people.

It turned out to be an elaborate charge-back credit card scam that I thankfully realized immediately and cut off before they could proceed.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. IT IS A SCAM.
