What Square systems and hardware are you using? For example Square Point of Sale on a Square Stand or Square for Restaurants on the Square Register? Just so I can have a better idea of your set up.
I tested out the settings on the Point of Sale app > More > Settings > Orders > Alerts, and at the moment we don't have the option to edit the notification sound or repeat it.
There was a recent update to the Square Point of Sale application that now has notifications running via Push Notifications on iOS (previously notification were triggered by the app only) and should play louder if the volume of the device is louder as well.
Otherwise, depending on what device you are using you could edit the setting so that the notification stays on the screen until you manually remove it.
For example from an iOS device - you can enable a notification on the Lock Screen, Notification Centre & Banners. And from there you can change the banner style to 'persistent' rather than 'tempory' so that the notification stays in place.
The looping of the alert would be a feature request for the moment though.
