Proposal for Adding a Checkbox for Custom Terms & Conditions

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing well.

I wanted to propose an enhancement to the payment process that could benefit professional service providers, especially those working on customer properties. The idea is to allow service providers to add a custom checkbox to the payment page, confirming that the customer agrees to the provider's specific Terms and Conditions.

Each service provider would be able to upload their own terms and conditions, which would be accessible through a link that appears when the customer checks the box. This would give both parties clear visibility and agreement on the terms before any payment is made, reducing the potential for misunderstandings or disputes later on.

Currently, many service providers find it difficult to ensure customers are aware of and agree to their terms. Adding this checkbox, along with an accessible link to the T&Cs, would not only protect service providers but also enhance transparency with customers. I believe this feature would be particularly attractive to those offering in-home or on-site services, where disputes over property terms or service agreements can arise.

Even if this feature were part of a premium Square membership, I think it would be a valuable addition that could encourage more professionals to join the platform, while reducing conflicts and enhancing the customer experience.

What do you all think of this idea?

Best regards,
Lucian

Hi @luciannlucaa ๐Ÿ‘‹ thanks for your post and welcome to the Seller Community!

I appreciate the details included in your post, this information is really valuable for our product teams who create and implement new features. I'll be sure to share this one with them.

In the meantime, as a workaround, you could add a link to your Terms & Conditions in the footer of your website. While it won't be a checkbox, you can direct sellers to it if they ever need to reference your terms.

You can add this by heading to your Square Online Overview > Edit Site > Footer > Add navigation > File link

You can then easily direct sellers to view your conditions if needed!

I hope this helps!
