Hey @GMT, thanks for your post.
I had a look into this and it seems this is something our engineering team is aware of and is working on.
I couldn't find any specific recent update so I have reached out to them for some information now, I'll let you know what they come back to me with.

Hi @Breffni I know this is an old thread, but I have been experiencing the same problems and I was wondering if the original issues were resolved, or possibly not as I see the same problems.
We see in particular bits of data missing when using the Google automated feed input website crawl in particular prices. We can correct these manually but when it passes with another crawl its fires up a few more product price issues, which we have correct already. Which prices are missing tends to be random. We also have problems retaining the brand name.
Not sure if this is Google or Square or combination issue but it seems to be an issue that somebody needs to get their head around. Its above my technical skill level but it would be important to try and fix somehow for all users.
Do you know if its available in the UK yet?
Any updates many thanks ๐

Hey @GMT, thanks for your patience.
Our engineering team have let me know that they have discerned that it looks like these integration issues are stemming on Googles side, however, if you would like to send me over some examples (items, screenshots) for your account, I'd be happy to open a new ticket to take a closer look.
Thanks.

@BreffniHi Alegra,
Are you saying that square integfration with Google Merchant Centre is now available in the UK? as all other threads going back over a year seem to say it is only available in the US! With no time line on a UK release!

Hey @SGM1, just stepping in for Alegra here.
The error above is a common issue with Google Merchant Centre. Since this is a google product, we are limited in what we are able to do, but here are a few resources that may fix the issue for you:
- Fix missing value
- Fix invalid image
- Fix unavailable mobile landing page
- Fix unavailable desktop landing page
There isn't a way to add these automatically since we don't have a direct connection with Google Merchant Centre in the UK at the moment and we don't currently have a timeline for it just yet. But do keep an eye out on the Seller Community. We'll be sure to announce it if this changes.

Hi @k_atie
Thank you for your reply.
Lets be clear the issue is Squares and not Googles.
The issue is linked to the same problem I have had for nearly 2 years with the Facebook shop link and micro data tags.
As you say you have no link and no way of providing a link file so the google crawler is the only automatic route.
This does not work as key data such as price does not appear to be on the page source so it cannot be picked up!
This I believe is what causes the micro data tags error with Facebook.
The links you provide above do not cover the crawler option and refer to file links that I was told square cannot provide.
It is very disappointing to yet again get the its not us response!
Especially as these links are fundamental to online selling and marketing and should be a top priority for an e-commerce platform!

Hi @k_atie
In addition to my last message here is Googles latest message re errors.
Page indexing issues detected in https://selbygardenmachinery.square.site/
To the owner of https://selbygardenmachinery.square.site/:
Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 4 Page indexing issue(s). The following issues were found on your site.
Top Issues
- Excluded by โnoindexโ tag
- Crawled - currently not indexed
- Duplicate, Google chose different canonical than user
- Alternate page with proper canonical tag
We recommend that you fix these issues when possible to enable the best experience and coverage in Google Search.
This is re general google indexing.
With reference to products Google has only found 1 out of circa 50 listed on Square and that one does not have a price so it is disqualified.
As users we have very little control over how square structures pages unless I have missed something in the setup.

Hello everyone, thank you @k_atie and @SGM1.
My mistake initially, Skyler is correct in saying Google Product Listings via Merchant Centre in not yet available in the UK, apologies!
Given that this feature is not available in the UK, it would explain why products are not properly syncing @GMT. We cannot say that this is linked to the issue you have experienced with Facebook shop @SGM1.
Any updates we do have on this feature coming to the UK, we'll be sure to let you know.

Hi @Breffni
I can say that the issues are related!
I have sent days talking to Facebook and Google and reading guidance notes from them and Square as well as looking at my square sites source and from what I can see it is the page tags that are incorrect or missing which has been reported by both companies in their diagnostics as per the message above.
To the point that the standard Google indexing crawlers are reporting more pages with issues than without which means even the normal Google search results are worse than they should be!
Unfortunately Squares technical staffs refusal to talk to a user leaves me unable to progress the investigation further.
As previously stated it is critically important that an e-commerce site works with Google.

Hi SGM1
Just jumping on this as I'm having exactly the same issue with regard to google page indexing.
Have you found any fixes?
I'm getting more and more "Duplicate, Google chose different canonical than user" even with pages with completely different URL's and content. The fixes suggested by Google do not seem to apply to ecommerce sites - Seems Google does not crawl Sqaure site correctly - but I have no problem with Google and other sites

Hi @David1927
Sorry I have not found any fixes.
I am looking at Google Merchant center and Google search consol and Have tried to have google crawl my square pages to collect the relevant data and get the error you report amongst 4 or 5 others. The Google search consol is even more confusing as 18 pages pass and 40 don't !
As I have indicated to @Breffni @k_atie it would appear that Google cannot collect the data as it is either not present or not formatted in the correct way. I do not believe we have any control over this and it is down to Squares setup.
However as it appears to be impossible to actually talk to any of squares technical team it is impossible to confirm this or to resolve the issue

Thanks for the response. It does seem to be a compatibility issue between google and square. whoever the fault lies with, it is the customer who loses out. It is even worse with Bing and Square.

@GMTHi,
How are you linking products to Google?
I as as I have tried and seem to have an issue with missing information like price.
This may be similar to the issue I have with links to Facebook shops!
