Going back to 1980s with no appointment reminders

Remember the days when you had a diary to note the appointments and check it on daily basis to know the schedule for the day. Those days are back again, with SquareUp. Now the sellers will need to pay for reminders about the appointments. Is this right business model for SquareUp - are they looking to compete with calendy?

Well I am still a new customer when I signed up in 2021 Christmas break to try SquareUp. With so many features broken in appointments (reminder not working, resource required when staff is booking, add-on services not available to customers, etc.), I almost gave up.

Last week, SquareUp asked if I want to upgrade to new pricing model coming up in April 2022. I opted and truth now prevailed that the free subscription could neither integrate with Google Calendar nor provide Staff reminders on appointment. To get this feature, we will need to pay $$s or you have to open the Appointment app every few hours to check on appointments. Yes, and that's going back to 1980s.

I hope the leadership and product management team really look back into bringing the reminder feature in free subscription and look as a modern payment company and not focus on competing with scheduling company.

We are having the same issues. I can't justify paying $420/yr for a calendar given we are a small business. We are looking at possibly downloading data if it's even possible at this point and moving elsewhere that accommodates small business needs. As the months progresses we are losing more and more features, but are getting lucky at finding alternatives thus far.
