Looking for recommendations for low-cost ads for my startup business

Without social media options, what are your recommendations for low-cost ads for my startup business?  I tried Google Ads and wasn't happy at all.  I also tried the "Nextdoor" platform and that was a debacle as well due to no way to manage the ads let alone cancel it until it was up for renewal.  Thanks for any successes you've had.

@Purple777 Hi! I will say I think the best thing is the community! So many of our customers when asked how they heard about us said their friends or family or coworker told them about us and they just had to come check us out! Instagram is also huge for us. A lot of people say they saw us on instagram. You are able to promote pictures and that helps people find you in the area as well!. The only other add type thing we have paid for was mailers to the surrounding neighborhoods!
