Hello, I am curious if businesses on Square are using any phone service solution to provide customer service over a phone call? Do you have a business phone number listed on your website, business cards, or brochures etc.? Any ideas and suggestions are welcome! Thank you!
We use a toll free number purchased through Square. You can't forward it to your cell. The customer calls, they get a recording, leave their message. Then you get an email and a notice through Square POS. you can either call them back or text them back.
We have used Freedom Voice, it's 10.00 a month for a toll free number and you can have that number forwarded to your cell phone.

We actually use a virtual phone number through Wix for our customer service needs. It's pretty cool because we can chat with clients via calls and texts, and we can even set it up to ring only during our business hours. Plus, there's an option to have different folks manage calls if needed. It's been super handy for us! Let me know if you need more info!
We're a restaurant, so our customer service needs are primarily answering basic questions and taking phone orders during operating hours. So, we just have a cell phone (through T-Mobile) with our business number, which we have on our website and on business cards too. We then have a voicemail set up for when we're closed, but it directs people to email us with questions.

I just switched to open phone. So far it's pretty cool. You can setup scheduling. Text to voice outgoing voicemail greetings so it's super simple to change frequently. The scheduling sends out various messages depending on the time of day. It can also send out auto text responses to no answers or voicemails. We can reply on any device the app is installed on. It has mini CRM built into it also. If you pay for the business level, you can have a phone tree and forwarding to any number. It can sync to many POS systems via Zapier
