Why are my customers not earning any points?

Hi-

I searched the community but only saw old threads. We have the loyalty points set up but I guess I set the tiers too high as no one is actually earning any points. I've watched the YouTube on how to set it up but my questions is.

How is everyone setting the tiers? We have a flower shop and would like our guests to earn points online and in our store. Dollar spent = point. They can redeem for a discount when they earn a certain amount of points.

Can anyone share their tiered set up?

Thanks!

Hi @sashakanno.  So first, let’s clarify some terms that it seems you are mixing up.

  1. The basic Loyalty Program has two parts — points awarded when customers purchase products, and rewards that are earned by reaching certain points levels.
  2. This is NOT the same thing as tiers.  Tiers can be thought of as an add-on.  In my case, for example, when customers spend more than $150 they are put into our first tier called Fan where each point is multiplied by 1.25.  When they have spent more than $600 the are put into our Family tier, where each point is doubled.

If I’m reading your post correctly, you might have your rewards levels set too high, but the only way to tell is for you to post screen shots of your loyalty settings here so I can review it and find the problems.

To help you out, I’m including screen shots of my program AND of my tiers below.  Here’s a quick summary of my program.

  1. Customers received 1 point for every dollar spent.
  2. For every $10 spent, they receive a $1 reward, which we describe to them as being in their “discount bank,”
  3. I have 15 rewards setup — at 10 points, 20 points, 30 points, etc, up to 150 points.  Customers can redeem as few as 10 points in a transaction and up to 150 points in a transaction.
  4. As I mentioned I have 4 tiers setup — Fan (150 points) where points are multiplied by 1.25, Patron (300 points) where they are multiplied by 1.5, Friend (450 points) where they are multiplied by 1.75 and Family (600 points) where points are doubled.  This ONLY serves to let valued customers earn points at a faster rate than everyone else, thereby reaching rewards levels quicker.

Look this over, and once you reply with your screen shots I can probably help you fix what is wrong with your setup.

This is perfect! I had the Tiers but had my Points (in my case stars) set too high and tied to a specific high priced item.

Thank you so much. I think I've sorted it all out now.
