Does anybody have any ideas for a workaround where there would need to be a minimum purchase in order to use loyalty points? I can't keep giving items away for free and when I pause it, the customers who want to use their points and not get everything for free are getting angry. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Hey @2ndCity. A couple of thoughts.
First, there is neither a setting nor a workaround that would require a minimum purchase amount in order to redeem points. Once rewards are earned, they can be redeemed at the customers’ discretion. If you want, you can head over to the Ideate Board and submit a feature request to the Loyalty Team. But this just starts an evaluation process and is not a short-term solution.
That being said, if you would describe your loyalty program (how points are earned, how rewards are earned) and/or post a few screen shots of your loyalty settings, I might be able to help you revise your program to minimize the number of “free” items you are giving away. It sounds like you might be being too generous in your rewards, or that rewards might take too long. For example, in my ice cream shop, customers receive $1 for every $10 spend. They can redeem any whole dollar amount (up to $15) in rewards. Since they are always seeing some level of rewards available, I find that the majority of people opt for the quick reward and most redeem $1 or $2 or $3 rather than banking to maximize their reward at $15. I don’t even notice redemptions anymore.
