Subscription Service sending credit card receipt with wrong business name
Has anyone else had a problem with how the business name shows up on a credit card receipt for a subscription service? My customers are getting a credit card receipt for a monthly subscription with a name that has nothing to do with my business, in fact it is a name of another local business and so several long term customers did not recognize the charge and canceled the service. Only found about about this from a customer asking if it was my charge because they recognized the amount. HELP?

Hey @MaxRange ! I'm pretty certain I can help you with this.
First, go here....
Then, scroll down some on this page, and you will see this selection....
Choose the "edit details" and you will see another window open. That first section is the Business Name that appears on bank statements. It's probably wrong for some reason.

Thanks for the detailed response. The location details you identified do appear on the "emailed" receipt that my customers get however, it appears as if the API used to send the transaction to the bank may be different. Here is a screenshot from a customer of their bank statement filtered for my monthly subscription. In Oct '24 i rebranded my business from Champ Golf with a location of Champ Golf to business name Friendswood Family Golf with the location name remaining as Champ Golf. As you can see from the statement below Square (?) sent my changes as Friendswood Smiles Family........which is a local dentist down the road from me. I talked to them and they have received several calls regarding these charges. Square support has been less than helpful demanding that I get another example from a 2nd customer......
I am confident this is an API issue but not sure where the breakdown is, Square to CC company, CC company to bank, or bank. Although I am sure this example below is with a bank that no other customer uses.
Any guidance on how to get resolution would be appreciated as the normal support channel is not helpful.

@MaxRange I am at an absolute loss now to what could be causing that. I would call a square tech support because I'm guessing it is coming from the api. I thought maybe you had purchased your business from someone else and that was causing the issue but I don't think that's the case obviously. Good luck and let us know what you find out.
