How do I permanently take away Cash App as a payment option for customers?

I know that I can manually take the option away, but how can I make that a default?

Hey @MrsLanza.  Currently, there is no setting to turn off Cash App for a business and/or location.  In order to turn it off for each device, each device has to be configured to disable Cash App Pay.

Having said that, you CAN set up shared device profiles on your Square Dashboard.  If you do this, you can set up everything about POS configuration in that profile.  With profiles, instead of signing into the POS with a userid/password, you would sign in using a device code.  After that, if changes are made to a device profile, all devices using that profile would get the change.  As you add new devices, you would just generate a device-specific code for that new device to use to sign-in to Square.

Here’s a link to the help document on setting up and using Device Profiles.  I’ve been using them for a while now and find them to be incredibly helpful in setting up and enforcing standards on multiple POS devices, as well as controlling what devices can use our accounts since each one must have its own device code.

I hope that helps.

Chip

@MrsLanza I forgot.  I’m very curious.  Why do you not want to allow pay by Cash App?  In my business, we adopted the policy that we allow all forms of payment so as to give our customers more options for spending money with us.  So, I’m always curious why any seller would not want to give customers more options of ways to pay.

Like I said.  I’m just curious.
