How do I republish my site to keep it free?

Weebly contacted me about an important update regarding my Weebly site and custom domain. I was informed that in order to keep my site published and remain on the free plan, I had to republish my site to a Weebly subdomain. I was told to click "edit" in my domain settings. How do you do that? Where do I find my domain settings?

Hi there. Click on Edit Site > Settings, then change the address for your site. Have you ever used a subdomain in the past, or did you connect your custom domain before publishing for the first time?

Can you please also confirm your current website URL? You may need to take an extra step if you had published to a Weebly subdomain before connecting and publishing to your custom domain.

p.s. Welcome to the Seller Community! 🎉

I am having the same problem and do not understand.  I have my own domain name that I pay for. Does that mean they will have to put in the subdomain to find me now? My domain site is www.mtlilac.com

Hey there @mtlilac and @Scarfitup1

At this time, a Weebly subdomain is a URL that ends in .weebly.com. To use a custom domain, you need to subscribe to any of our tiers. If you prefer keeping your site free then disconnecting your domain and assigning a subdomain will be the solution.

Same issue.  I’m trying to find the “purchase one of our packages” to select a package.  Where is that?

I’m not finding any options regarding that.  How do I get there?

Thank you!

Same issue here.  I believe I did have a subdomain prior to the current one, which is scarf-it-up.net.  I have no idea how to proceed.

I have the same issue and pretty cross with Square who seem to have a different culture than Weebly (Make money v make it easy).  I have a historic but sentimental website I build on a custom domain for our wedding.   I didnt want then, nor now, for that to be on a Weebly domain, nor do I want to pay $10 a month as I have no need for any of the advanced or shopping features.   I am not sure how to copy it to another service - I have free basic sites that go with my domain but basically they have given me a couple of weeks to remember what the (censored) I need to do to keep my site live.    Shame on you Square - wonder how many subscribers you will lose and how much you will make by enforcing this change.  And I am pretty sure I had a subdomain first when I was setting it up and there seems no way to get an help except with this forum.
