I have my own business and i {her husband} linked my square to my wife's checking account. she receives child support from her ex. last week it came through the state with my wife's name and the full amount or 104 and this week it came through square with the child's name and the amount of 94. is square app taking a 10%+ fee through child support that's unrelated to MY square?

Hello @deitert07 thanks for your post. The only time Square takes a percentage of money deposited is when Square is processing/collecting the credit card payment for you. Child Support payments should not be being processed through your Square account.
Just so I am understanding what you're saying...you have a Square account for your business, that processes credit card payments, and then deposits into a checking out at your bank. And this bank checking account is your wife's account. So any Square business credit card purchases get deposited into your wife's account?
And your wife receives child support that is deposited into this same checking account? If this is how I'm understanding it...Square should not have anything to do with child support payments. Are the child support payments put into a debit account, and then your wife is swiping that debit card on your Square POS or account in order to receive that money (instead of just spending from the original debit card?)
The only things that could pose a possible problem is if the checking account is a SQUARE checking account, instead of a bank account at your local bank? Did you wife change how she is receiving deposits for the child support?

Good Morning @deitert07,
I want to hop in and reiterate what @HC_Charlie stated. Square does not process child support payments and when the funds hit your bank account the fee has already been taken out.
I hope this clarifies some things. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to reach out! 🙂
