I mobile deposit checks and sometimes it takes 1 hour to go in and others days. Is this that way for everyone or just me?

Hello @Haffdaddy !
Mobile check deposits rely on the check issuer's bank to verify the check before it will show up in your account. This process can take 1-5 business days depending on the bank.
So yes, the oddities in delays are normal unfortunately: checks are from a different banking era than electronic payments, and things can and do take time.

@ryanwanner is correct on this. Some banks offer instant use of funds while others don't and this is entirely bank policy. I currently work on the back end of banking as my full-time job. There are A LOT of factors that go into a check and I would like to add that check fraud is absolutely on the rise. Not even in the States but all over North America. Banks have checks and balances in place but sometimes getting a check deposited can take extra time if the depositing bank's fraud system flags it for whatever reason. That situation involves manual intervention within fraud systems and causes delays in the depositing of the funds
