Redirect Page in Appointments

Redirect Page in Appointments

One of the features I'm looking for is the ability to redirect my clients to a custom page after they book their appointments. I'm able to do this with scheduleonce but I don't see that option in Square Appointments. Am I missing something?

Thank you

You said reminder emails, but I think you meant to say confirmation emails? Regardless, the whole point of the booking redirect is to time-accurately and user/session specifically track conversions when trying to get customers to book through ads or organic links.

Sending the link in an email would break the chain, and you wouldn't be able to track the conversion back to the original click.

I do want to mention here though, that I have the Google Book Appointment integration hooked up, and am going to start testing conversion tracking through that in Adwords. I'm not sure that Google has enabled this feature yet, but I will report back. So, in light of this being a low priority for Square, we are probably going to be able to find a solution sooner through Booking Integrations like Instagram and Google.

UPDATE: As of October 9th, 2019, there is no option in Google AdWords to run a conversion based campaign straight to Reserve with Google. In hindsight, this integration with Google would only make sense for people searching for something they were already wanting to buy, and who needed no additional information, for instance on some kind of landing page.

In light of that, hopefully we can work together with @kellyj and Square to either find a way to redirect, fire some custom Javascript, or integrate more directly with Google Analytics or Tag Manager to make sure that we can successfully track booking completions.

Also very important here is that I ran a sample of all my appointment data and found that only about 20% of people who click over to Square to book an appointment actually complete the appointment booking. The other 80% are either just looking, finding more information, or don't see something that fits their schedule. So, this makes this issue all the more important to know which clicks to Square result in a completed appointment booking and from who.

Thank you, long day. Yes the confirmation email.

This is the way you may be using it, and in this case that would not necessarily make sense as a work around.

I do want to address the prioritization though. We have a really in depth article that explains the lifecycle of Feature Requests. Although it may seem like we're not prioritizing this, we can assure you that is not the case. This feedback is we use to drive measurable change.

"What if you come across a feature request that you strongly endorse, but no action has been taken on it recently?

  1. Feel free to ask for an update. Our team follows up to see if there is any new information to share with the community.
  2. Add your voice! Please include why this feature request is useful to your business, including any pain points that currently exist, how this feature would resolve them, and how you would like this feature to work. Anything we can share with the responsible team is helpful!"

@kellyj

Just to clarify, I didn't mean the low priority comment as a dig, we all love Square and all you do. I was just trying to be helpful for others coming across this thread to have a direction to hunt and problem solve. Ultimately we are looking for information for either our business or clients, and there hasn't been any new or useful information on this topic in about 3 years. BUT, because of the good work that you guys are doing with Booking Integrations, that direction will probably result in a more reliable and useful solution than even a redirect link can accomplish.

Thanks for clarifying! I didn't take it as a dig, but wanted to makes sure you knew you were heard.

Any updates on this? I too REALLY want this. Much more than "interesting", this is a basic feature in online marketing - to track conversions, to retarget visitors, to know your numbers, and many other reasons.

Any update on this? Thanks!!

I'm thinking of switching from calendly to square appointments, but so far I have no idea how to make a nice looking appointment page, such as the type you can make with calendly, or scheduleonce, or any of the online schedulers. My "booking page" looks absolutely janky and terrible with square: https://square.site/book/VS5MKYB2V6SSM/laptop-agency

It also forces me to list ALL of my services. All i want to do is have a simple booking page, like I do on Calendly: https://calendly.com/hannahwiley/strategy-session?back=1&month=2019-12

Is this not possible with square?

I also want the ability to embed my calendar (looking nice), like I did here with calendly:

https://clientsoncommand.com/consultation/

When I try to embed the square widget into my same page, it erases all other data on my page. It also looks terrible.

I guess what I REALLY want is 1) a direct link straight to the page where they actually book (I guess this page? https://squareup.com/appointments/book/de7a08ea-9d72-4355-912d-178e74d1e26f/VS5MKYB2V6SSM/date

and then

2) to be able to embed that page - WITHOUT having the ugly pre-page where they choose which type of appointment they want.

For both the page link, and the embeded code, I just want to send them straight to my appointment calendar page, again a la calendly and all the other online apps - and avoid the pre-page.

Is this possible?

Also with calendly and other apps, you have a nice url for your booking page:(https://calendly.com/hannahwiley/strategy-session)

With square, to get to the same type of page, this is the url i have:

https://squareup.com/appointments/book/de7a08ea-9d72-4355-912d-178e74d1e26f/VS5MKYB2V6SSM/date

Any way to personalize and shorten that?

Hi @Naha!

There's no updates to give on this at this time but if there ever is one- we'll be sure to update this thread to inform y'all!

Just checking in here to provide some sort of direction for people who are desperate. I'm always thinking about possible solutions to this, and I think I found one.

You would have to use the Website Embed option for appointment booking. Since the embed site is built/handled through an external Javascript file executed on your website, with a little digging you should be able to bind an event to the final successful appointment click. While you might be able to redirect to a web page, it would likely be more reliable and direct to use the custom Javascript to send an event straight to Google Analytics or any other tracking software. You would just want to make sure that the custom Javascript loads on every page where you embed the code from Square.

Anyone with a basic knowledge of Javascript should be able to execute this.

I haven't tested this, or I would provide more specific instructions and example scripts, but for now, I prefer to not use the Website Embed option for design and User Experience reasons.

2016, people have been requesting this since 2016!!!!!!

I've requested this 5 times myself.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME. You don't think conversion tracking of a completed sale an important thing?!?!

And you are a P.O.S/Ecommerce marketing company????
