Messaging clients

I shared a few weeks ago about how frustrating it was that the ability to text clients was taken away. That got resolved pretty quickly, however, this week it is back.

it's very inconvenient to have to click on the number click on the phone number to copy it, close the app, go into my messaging, click to paste the phone number and then shoot a message out. The only other option is to send a message within the app, I do not like that option, Please fix this.

I’ve confirmed with the team that instead of the Send SMS option, we’re now focusing on the Send Message feature, which is available in the US and Canada. There was a bug that required us to temporarily roll back this change on October 18th, which is why you may have noticed the previous experience for a time.

This updated experience aligns with the new customer profile UI rollout (starting with iOS version 6.56+), and it matches the current behavior on Android and other verticals (send SMS was not a feature on Android).

We understand that changes like these can take some getting used to, and we’re here to help with any questions or feedback you might have.

@Liastyleshair Marco checking in here again!

From the previous screenshot that you posted, I noticed that you are still using the Appointment app instead of the Square Point of Sale App. Would you mind messaging me a video of the issue, would love to take a closer look at this.

This is a real problem! First of all, I personally don't want to have to only have access to my client messages through the app, that adds multiple extra steps that I personally don't want to deal with, I don't want my clients to miss text messages because they don't realize that I'm texting them through the app and not directly. This is a major problem.

Not to mention the fact that I don't even have the ability to message this person. What a strange choice you have made, to intentionally make this app worse.

not to mention the fact that this client that I'm trying to text right now has opted out of texting. I am running a business here, a client facing business, and I need to be able to communicate with them quickly.

I have to say, I am extremely unhappy in this decision. It is a major step backwards. I rely on this app being able to quickly and efficiently communicate with my Clients. Just mind blowing.
