Discount Codes to be used when booking an appointment online

Discount Codes to be used when booking an appointment online

I'd like to offer a special for clients for booking online, but there is no option for them to enter in a discount code when booking their appointment. This would be an essential asset to business marketing, promotions and bookings. It's important to have pre-paid booking options, but if i want to offer a discount, there doesn't seem to be any way to do this

Discounts, Gift cards, and payment options for services

Talking with a rep yesterday I learned that the services (which I use for my healthcare practice linked to my online appointments via desktop), does not have the option for coupons, gift cards, or payment options like Afterpay.

I was trying so hard to figure it out because I could see the coupon I generated for "items" and on the square app (for manually entered appointments).

Please work on including these much needed features!! thank you.

Re: Square Appointments: Can my customers use a discount code when booking?

WOW, finding this thread really opened my eyes on how LONG this feature has been requested and Square done nothing... more than 4 years...

Not only discount coupons are essential for appointments but also there is no option for gift cards which are also sold by Square Online... but can't be used on Appointments? Doesn't make any sense right?

We sell skateboarding lessons, and a lot of people want to give them as gift cards for Christmas and Birthday, but they can't use the option to book online like everyone else, they need to call us and we have to block the slot with no payment, hoping they will show up to be able to charge the gift card or apply a discount in person when they arrive.

I am tired of waiting for this to change... the recent new updates in Square have been so useless, at least for my business, and this essential feature still missing... I feel like the only solution is to look into moving to another software...

Re: I have standard prices for my services, how do I change the price to reflect a discount?

Hi @janiced 👋

While it is possible to apply a discount to a service when charging a client in-person for a service using the Square Point of Sale app, it's currently not possible for your clients to use a discount or coupon code when booking an appointment using your Appointments booking site - this is being tracked as a feature request at this time.

Re: Is there a way to add coupon options for Appointments? We can't offer them with Appointments...

Currently there isn't a way for your customers to use coupons or promo codes for Appointments booked from your online Appointments booking site. We're tracking this feature request!

In the meantime if you use Square Marketing to send customers coupons you can apply those coupons at checkout from Appointments app. (And you can create a discount and apply that at checkout when your client arrives for their appointment.)

Come on Square. This is beyond a joke! This isn't a difficult thing to code into the appointments system..

I would also like to allow customers to apply coupon codes at the time of booking on Square appointments.

I don't understand how this post is from years ago with comments upon comments of want for this feature.

Same with the ability to create an invoice from appointment.

Two simple and very necessary features that are imperative to operate a booking site.

Square Champion

I think Square is unifying where discounts/coupons are created. I am hoping the ability to apply coupons to appointments will be added as part of this.

Considering we pay a monthly fee to use Square Appointments, I really think Square should have basic features that their competitors have.

I just created a coupon code to be used for our golf simulator appointments, just to find out coupon codes can’t be used when making a Square Appointments. In this digital age, this is a no brainer.

Dear Community and Square Support team,

Same issue here. I'm transitioning from our Spa services being listed as products in the Square POS and Online, to a Appointments with actual Services being booked. Issues I'm facing:

  1. Modifiers. Now the client doesn't see them after he/she chosen the service to book, just the main service itself. So I need to have a "base' service which I sell at a lower price, but I need to add several Modifiers acting as Add-Ons to the base service and allowing me to upsell. Also, Modifiers for a Service supposed to have a time option because now they are not just a product add-on with the fixed price (like lets say optional home skincare set that comes with the microneedling treatment as an add-on) but also a service add-on that increase the overall time of the appointment (lets say the service is a 30 minute Body Contouring session for 95$, and my Modifiers are optional Cellulite Remodelling treatment for arms, belly, glutsDiscount Creation1.pngDiscount Creation2.pngDiscounts List.pngOption Selection.png, and full-body, and client can add them on at the time of booking, and each of them is certain minutes long, so each of the have to add time to the appointment). But now, only Esthetician is able to see those modifiers during checkout. If it is lets say one or two Modifiers, I could replace them with variations, which will double the amount from the Modifiers count. Imagine if I have 10 modifiers. I have to create how many variations??? You definitely have to fix this.
  2. Discounts for the Services. I don't understand why you created an option to apply a discount to the Service in the Discounts page, if the customer who is booking this service doesn't see it??? It only shows up during a checkout! Now I have to explain each customer not to worry, and that he will definitely receive his/her discount. When are you going to fix that as well???

Wow, just wow. I'm at the point where I don't recommend Square to anyone because of how difficult they make it to do simple things like adding a coupon to a appointment booking.

What gives! Square - your whole setup has been nothing but a huge headache and letdown. Anyone reading this - I'd run away from Square as fast as you can if you book appointments and services.
