Discount Codes to be used when booking an appointment online

Discount Codes to be used when booking an appointment online

I'd like to offer a special for clients for booking online, but there is no option for them to enter in a discount code when booking their appointment. This would be an essential asset to business marketing, promotions and bookings. It's important to have pre-paid booking options, but if i want to offer a discount, there doesn't seem to be any way to do this

Discounts, Gift cards, and payment options for services

Talking with a rep yesterday I learned that the services (which I use for my healthcare practice linked to my online appointments via desktop), does not have the option for coupons, gift cards, or payment options like Afterpay.

I was trying so hard to figure it out because I could see the coupon I generated for "items" and on the square app (for manually entered appointments).

Please work on including these much needed features!! thank you.

Re: Square Appointments: Can my customers use a discount code when booking?

WOW, finding this thread really opened my eyes on how LONG this feature has been requested and Square done nothing... more than 4 years...

Not only discount coupons are essential for appointments but also there is no option for gift cards which are also sold by Square Online... but can't be used on Appointments? Doesn't make any sense right?

We sell skateboarding lessons, and a lot of people want to give them as gift cards for Christmas and Birthday, but they can't use the option to book online like everyone else, they need to call us and we have to block the slot with no payment, hoping they will show up to be able to charge the gift card or apply a discount in person when they arrive.

I am tired of waiting for this to change... the recent new updates in Square have been so useless, at least for my business, and this essential feature still missing... I feel like the only solution is to look into moving to another software...

Re: I have standard prices for my services, how do I change the price to reflect a discount?

Hi @janiced 👋

While it is possible to apply a discount to a service when charging a client in-person for a service using the Square Point of Sale app, it's currently not possible for your clients to use a discount or coupon code when booking an appointment using your Appointments booking site - this is being tracked as a feature request at this time.

Re: Is there a way to add coupon options for Appointments? We can't offer them with Appointments...

Currently there isn't a way for your customers to use coupons or promo codes for Appointments booked from your online Appointments booking site. We're tracking this feature request!

In the meantime if you use Square Marketing to send customers coupons you can apply those coupons at checkout from Appointments app. (And you can create a discount and apply that at checkout when your client arrives for their appointment.)

Not yet @bobrandklev, thanks for checking in! We'll change the status of this thread to give you a heads up if this is available in future. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.

This reply was created from merging an existing thread: Can we please get Promo Codes in Appointments

Please create a platform for promo codes in appointments. This feature would be of great help to marketing and boosting my sales.

I recently started using Square Marketing and sent a discount to my clients, then I realized they can't enter that code when booking and prepaying using my Acuity scheduler. I need this feature since I require pre-payment when booking online, otherwise the usefulness of Square Marketing is greatly diminished for my needs. Any idea if or when this feature will become live?

Your request is similar to the request others have made in this thread, except it's the opposite, as Square would be the third-party in your situation @AlignTherapy. The company you're using for scheduling - Acuity - could potentially build a feature allowing them to accept third-party discount codes.

Alternatively, if you want to keep your payments, scheduling, and marketing in one place, you could try scheduling using Square Appointments. Your Square Marketing discount codes would absolutely work for customers wanting to book online that way.

Thank you @Valentina. I've contacted Acuity regarding accepting third-party coupons. Since I'm not looking to switch my online scheduler, it would be nice if Square would at least allow me to create my own promo codes when sending coupons to clients. Any chance for that happening?

If and when this feature request is built out, we'll be sure to update everyone here in the Community. We appreciate your patience, and please do reach out to us if you have any additional questions @AlignTherapy.

The feature would be very useful!  I too was directing customers to use a discount code only to find out it doesn't appear on the appointment checkout window.

How do I apply an automatic category discount to customers how are prepaying an appointment? I was wanting to see what booking an appointment was like on the customer's end and did not see an option or an automatic discount be applied when entering card information. Does this discount get applied after that? Do I need to manually apply it after they enter the card information?

Hi there, @lissettemolina - thanks for taking the time to make your first post on the Seller Community! We are so happy to see some new faces around, and we look forward to hearing from you!

I've gone ahead and moved your post to a similar thread of Sellers asking for this feature as well.

Per Helen's post, we don't currently have the ability to add coupons or discounts for Appointment bookings - but we are keeping tabs on Sellers who are asking for this, so that way we can update all whenever this feature becomes available in the future.

In that vein, I want to make sure I am understanding you correctly here; are you wanting specific customers to automatically receive discounts whenever booking your service online? Or would you like the ability for your customers to be able to enter in a promo code before booking?

I will be sure to keep an eye out for your response!

Would it be against the rules to manually issue refunds for each customer after they pay full price? Seems silly but then again not having this feature seems silly as well.
