Discount Codes to be used when booking an appointment online

Discount Codes to be used when booking an appointment online

I'd like to offer a special for clients for booking online, but there is no option for them to enter in a discount code when booking their appointment. This would be an essential asset to business marketing, promotions and bookings. It's important to have pre-paid booking options, but if i want to offer a discount, there doesn't seem to be any way to do this

Discounts, Gift cards, and payment options for services

Talking with a rep yesterday I learned that the services (which I use for my healthcare practice linked to my online appointments via desktop), does not have the option for coupons, gift cards, or payment options like Afterpay.

I was trying so hard to figure it out because I could see the coupon I generated for "items" and on the square app (for manually entered appointments).

Please work on including these much needed features!! thank you.

Re: Square Appointments: Can my customers use a discount code when booking?

WOW, finding this thread really opened my eyes on how LONG this feature has been requested and Square done nothing... more than 4 years...

Not only discount coupons are essential for appointments but also there is no option for gift cards which are also sold by Square Online... but can't be used on Appointments? Doesn't make any sense right?

We sell skateboarding lessons, and a lot of people want to give them as gift cards for Christmas and Birthday, but they can't use the option to book online like everyone else, they need to call us and we have to block the slot with no payment, hoping they will show up to be able to charge the gift card or apply a discount in person when they arrive.

I am tired of waiting for this to change... the recent new updates in Square have been so useless, at least for my business, and this essential feature still missing... I feel like the only solution is to look into moving to another software...

Re: I have standard prices for my services, how do I change the price to reflect a discount?

Hi @janiced 👋

While it is possible to apply a discount to a service when charging a client in-person for a service using the Square Point of Sale app, it's currently not possible for your clients to use a discount or coupon code when booking an appointment using your Appointments booking site - this is being tracked as a feature request at this time.

Re: Is there a way to add coupon options for Appointments? We can't offer them with Appointments...

Currently there isn't a way for your customers to use coupons or promo codes for Appointments booked from your online Appointments booking site. We're tracking this feature request!

In the meantime if you use Square Marketing to send customers coupons you can apply those coupons at checkout from Appointments app. (And you can create a discount and apply that at checkout when your client arrives for their appointment.)

@swagsite  after looking at all of the functionalities of calendly and others the acuity was still the easiest to embed.

This will never release. Square just doesn't care that much. It is unfortunate. An optimist at heart, but just not when it comes to Square making timely product updates. Square Appointment Exceutives move slower than rock formation.

They could turn their customers into ambassadors. Instead, critics.

Do better, Square.

@Stylezbeautyco , Square will NEVER develop this. They move too slowly.

Prove me otherwise, Square. And don't be spineless and ban me. Own up to your shortcomings. Be better, Square.

Hi @JuniperRising - Thanks for stopping by the Ideate Board!

Your request is one that is very popular that we also hope to see implemented soon.

It would be awesome to see service providers also able to give their customers discounts when booking services, especially now as we zoom into the holiday season.

While there is no exact announcement date for this roll out we want you to know that our engineers do have eyes on this request and we are more than happy to update you with information as soon as we know more about a release date for this feature.

Thanks again for stopping by with your request.

My business speed tours and experience. When you book a tour, you enter the checkout on square appointments. You select your date and time for your tour and then enter your credit card info. But there is nowhere to enter a coupon code or redeem a gift card. It only shows a box for your credit card info. No other input boxes are available. How do I make those appear?

Welcome to the Seller Community, @Newportclassics 👋

I merged your post to a feature request thread since it is not currently possible to use a coupon code with the Square Appointments checkout page.

We will make sure to update this thread if this changes in the future. 😊

Thanks, and welcome again to the Seller Community!

This is really absurd.

Square, please make it possible for gift card holders, both Egift cards and plastic, to pay for a full or partial Square appointment.  We can't promote the sale of gift cards because they can't use them to book the appointments.  Instead we have to tell them to buy a card, call us they we have to use a multi step workaround only available in one of the POS setups to apply the gift card.  It's maddening.

Has this happened yet?!

The more money we make by adding this feature, the more Square makes as well!

@JJ_ any updates? It’s 2023 now and still waiting on this feature.

I need to give a discount to some of our clients. We do house calls, and people book an appointment...is there an option in Squere to set up a booking with a promo code?

Or what is the way for the client to use the promo code?
