Automatic Confirmation texts & emails... how are YOU coping!?!

Square's decision to make away with the automatic confirmation texts & e-mails has greatly hindered my business. Making away with such a great feature, my busy clients have forgotten some of their upcoming appointments... the new clients booking their appointments forget, and they are no longer required to leave their cards on file therefore I cannot charge them for wasting my time and money. (according to the square subscription pricing comparisons, card on file is still included with the basic subscription but yet it does not require a client to enter their card information to book online..??? what is up with that?)

Square was very business friendly. Which is why I put other small business owners I know onto Square... I've lost business with new and established clients. Who knew that such a helpful feature would be detrimental to staying organized and available to those who want to come in and be seen ! By losing clients, how am I supposed to make money and upgrade to the square account with this incredible feature?!

I am very upset, and am very clearly ranting.. but how are other business owners coping with this?! our clients are busy with THEIR lives, and we are busy with our own -outside of our businesses. Such a simple feature helped TREMENDOUSLY. SQUARE. PLEASE BRING THIS VITAL FEATURE BACK TO THE BASIC SUBSCRIPTION. ...and please bring back the card on file because in my three years of being a small business owner, only NOW since these changes went into place, am i being screwed over by no shows !

Hi @CJuareznails,

Thanks for writing in and sharing your honest feedback about the changes to Square Appointments subscriptions. I understand how daunting, and frustrating updates like these can be for small businesses.

You should still be able to send automated reminders under the basic subscription, however, no-show protection and confirmation messages have moved to the paid tier. This table gives you an overview of what's included in each subscription tier.

While I understand that this isn't the answer you were hoping for, our teams do look to the seller community for feedback like yours, and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know how this is impacting you.

I understand that this is very frustrating!!!  Because we rely heavily on these two features as well.  Okay this may help somewhat.  The price for the next tier level up to receive all the features you need is $29.  Instead of charging clients a service fee increase your prices (just a little) to cover this subscription price.  Let's face it they need this feature as well...to book online and secure their appointments with a card (and being able to add card to file)... and they need "text' reminders...email reminders are just not going to cut it.  Average out how many clients you service in a month and divide the subscription rate.  So for example...if you serviced 30 clients a month then you could easily add just $1.00 to a service.  I'm making this up just for a numbers game but lets say your did haircuts and the cost was $25...raise it to $26.  Clients won't have a fuss over the increase and you have your peace of mind back running your business smoothly.  Hope this helps a little 🙂
