Re: End Drawer Report Nightmare CORRECTION/EDIT not possible???? - Status changed to: Not currently planned

Hi @Itsthattime  - Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Square Seller Community👋

I went ahead and merged your post to an existing thread where other Square Sellers have discussed this as well. We merge duplicate conversations together to keep like comments in one place, and to make it easier for others to find the thread in the future.

Unfortunately, this is not a feature our Product Team currently has planned. I’ve shared your feature request with our Product Team, as they are constantly improving our products based on feedback like this. To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for any updates in our Seller Community. We appreciate your input! 🙂

Perhaps we could have a feature that only allows an administrator to make changes to the closed drawer so a user cannot just make random adjustments. Curtis Baker

So this was first presented in 2016 is there still no answer, because I accidentally put in the wrong open amount and still cant find away to correct it?

Hey @Ktokeefe - we're still tracking this request and can totally understand how layered cash management features are important for your biz . We'll be sure  to loop you in if we hear any updates.

Thanks for posting!

I accidentally "closed" my cash drawer instead of "ending" it. How do I reopen the drawer so I can record my Paid In/Out?

Hey @CoffeeYum-

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

It looks like another seller had the same question here. Ultimately, there isn't a way to reopen or edit a cash drawer report once it has been closed. Sorry about that. Let us know if you have any additional questions about this.

Hello! New Square user here. Just checking in on this thread. Has there been any progress by Square to allow editing the cash drawer? If not, the only solution is to use the paid in/out feature? Can you do that more than once while the drawer is still active? Thanks!

have you guys fix that so owners can fix that?

I dont understand why Square can't just be honest with us and tell us if they aren't going to implement a functionality and why, instead of sending these guys to say "oh what a great idea I see how you could use that feature I will suggest it" and then 5 years pass by with crickets.  I mean this was requested in 2016 and is still relevant and will always be relevant, yet Square has done nothing except say they are working on it or will work on it.  Just tell us why you don't find this feature to be important, and then move on, close the thread, keep people upset but at least knowing why they are not going to implement the feature.

I am currently having the same issue as @sassyshoe and I second that request.

Not a new idea or question but one that's being clamored for over and over again. Owners and/or administrators need to be able to adjust closed cash drawers. Very often people fat finger their entries and accept the wrong figure. In other cases, they forget to do the pay out for their tips, and in some cases, shift change needs to happen before there's an opportunity to properly close the first drawer and open a new one.

we 100% support this item!
with the right permissions and an additional password/PIN prompt, a manager/owner should be able to edit anything on the drawer.  of course, it would need to be recorded.  currently we are having to use Paid-In/Paid-Out to fix these types of errors.
