The ability to customize the email notifications is great, however the sms notification is very limited. Allowing customization, if possible, would be a welcome upgrade.

@nailsbyjlyn @Kenzi Right now you can only edit the email confirmations for Square Appointment and we're tracking the request to be able to edit text messages too! We'll share any updates in this thread.

 

@Kenzi You can change the cut-off time that a client can cancel an Appointment from the Calendar & Booking section of your Appointments Dashboard: 

  1. Scroll down to Online Scheduling.
  2. Click on the dropdown menu below Cut-off time for allowing clients to cancel or reschedule > choose a new time.
  3. Click Save.

I moved your post to an existing thread where another seller had the same question.

 

As @nika mentioned above- only appointment email reminders can be edited at this time and not text messages.

We're a smaller salon based in Canada and recently made the switch to Square Appointments. We're loving it so far, but have found quite a few areas where improvement is much needed. 

 

Firstly, the fact that we're unable to customize SMS notifications is very difficult to navigate. Let's be honest, nobody really checks their emails. We need our custom notifications to send out google forms for covid pre-screening!

 

Secondly, there's not a lot of flexibilty for recording payments in checkouts. for example, you cannot check out a client on a laptop without including their email for receipts, we don't collect emails from our clients so this has made for a tricky situation. In addition, when processing cash sales, you cannot add a tip, meaning that it's all recorded as change given back to the client rather than a tip amount.

 

Thirdly, we find that it's very easy to book appointments for the wrong time, as they will default to a time the app finds for you. If there could be a way to toggle this feature on and off (so that we are required to select appointment times manually) this would save us a lot of confusion. 

 

We're loving the parts of this service that work for us, and understand that it's a new platform! There's plenty of time to rectify these issues, we just hope that they will be addressed sooner rather than later for the sake of our organization. 

We want to sell ~400 Zoom seminars in our Square store. Upon purchase, we want to send an automated email with the zoom login information. Is this functionality available.? Can we customize an order confirmation email based on a specific item?

I also need to be able to change that "We'll call you" message as I need my clients to call me instead. This would be an extremely helpful feature and I hope it can be added soon!

 

I've customized every email to tell them to call me, and I've turned off text messages (since those can't be customized), but they still get confused frequently.

 

Businesses need more flexibility since some of us use Zoom, Face Time, even Messenger to conduct  meeting with clients. Thanks for reading!

We have clients who come for multiple services with different staff members. They often call because they don't know which appointment reminder text is for which (some rarely click the link to check for themselves). Is there anyway to have the confirmation text (the most used communication) to include at least the service for that appointment?

Any update to this? Its been 4 years since the question was asked and I'm very surprised this hasn't been created. With all the SMS texts I receive from other companies, you would think that this would be a top priority feature. Is this even being developed for the future? I'm sure we'd all love some sort of update, even an eta.

My clients receive confirmation and reminder texts through my square system. When they receive the text they receive a link that gives them info on their appointment such as what they are receiving at their appointment and it gives them the option to change the time of their appointment. How do I add my business address to that reminder text link? I am not seeing settings for that anywhere.
