Is there a way to create Appointment categories?

Is there a way to create Appointment categories?

Is there an option to create categories in Appointments? I have a rather long list of services and don't like that my clients have to scroll through everything to get to what they want. If not, is it a feature coming soon?

Thanks!

Re: Is there a way to create Appointment categories?

So, there is a way to do this, but it requires embedding the list on your own website.

In appointments, under online booking, website embed:

"View Advanced Options" button

"Create New Widget for [your company name]"

Give this widget a name - location, day of the week, etc. Whatever will help you know what is in the list.

You can select what staff are able to be booked - so you could limit it per location

You can select which services are to be included

Save

Now you will see the widget in the "Saved Custom Widget" list.

Click view the online booking page will open displaying only the staff and services you selected.

You can copy the link URL and either send it to clients, make a link on your business website, or embed the entire widget into your site. You can even embed several widget on the same page of your website to split up categories, dates/days, location, staff, etc, keeping all services on one page, just organized by categories. Or you can devote seperate pages to specific items/staff/etc. I created a google sites (in google drive) website to try this out. works beautifully with a google site. I haven't tried it with any other site yet.  It molds right into your webpage and keeps viewers on your site and not moving to the appointments page and missing all the other content on your website.

I hope this helps those that are really struggling with the need to have this all categorized and organized better. If you have any questions about what I've done here, please ask.

Re: Appointment Categories?

I see how that would be super useful, especially when you have a wide range of services offered under one roof. We don't have that option right now but we'll announce any updates as soon as they're available.

1. Please add categories on the online booking page, I'm ready to switch over but during testing mode that is one of three things my clients continuously kept saying was a headache.  With salons that have multiple services it is cumbersome having to scroll to get to their service.

If they want relaxer services they can just go to relaxers instead of scrolling past all the braids, locs, cuts etc.  Please consider making this a priority.

2. A place to add pictures of work, a gallery, clients enjoy seeing hairstylist work which gives a sense of trust, skill and capabilities.

3. The team bio is all the way at the bottom consider moving it up or a link of the names at the top for visitors to be able to quickly read about the stylist.

These we're the three things that came up continuously.

Thank you

Really appreciate you bringing these feature requests to the fore front @salonxopgh! Feedback like this is how we can continue to enhance our products!

I moved your post to this Appointments feature request board so we can keep track of everything in once place. Also, if any new development happens, you'll be notified here.

Thanks again!

We have a number of services for our client and would like to organize them in the bast way possible.

Using the Square Appointments booking system, is there a way to organize services offered by category instead of listing them all together?

There are a few reasons for this request but mostly: some services offer a single add-on available and for that we can simply add a variation that includes the extra amount of time and cost.

However, our facial service has 10 optional add-ons and we need to offer all of these options rather than one. These add-ons include, essential oils, vitamin c treatment, glycolic peel, collagen mask etc.

We want the customer to be able to choose one or even all 10 add-ons but it does not seem that is possible unless we create the add-ons as separate services. If we cannot list services by category though this will create an extremely long list of services and could be confusing.

Currently we have the 10 facial add-ons setup as available modifiers only available to the two primary facial services but that option only accounts for the additional charge and not the extra amount of time needed for the add-on service.

There could be a better method and I invite any feedback/direction you can offer. Thank you!

Hey @tderouin! Thanks for sharing this context. It's definitely helpful to know! I moved your post to this thread so you can see above how to rearrange your services.

The only thing to note is that you're not able to rearrange services by categories, so you'll need to sort each service individually and group them into their normal categories.

Hope this makes sense! If you need some more guidance, you can always check in with our Appointments team.

Wanted to loop back on this. Having categories and sub-categories would be super helpful in the menu option. I’m an esthetician and offer a lot of services and add-ons. It’s so tough to have it all in list form and my clients having to scroll through each service to navigate to what they’re wanting. Not to mention a lot of services get overlooked because people don’t want to keep scrolling. I’m currently switching my POS that satisfies this need. But If square would offer this feature I would definitely consider coming back. Please please implement this as soon as possible

Sooo....I've finally figured it out!  There is a way to do it, however, there is a glitch.  The way you would do it is by creating a service: for example (facials)...then you would create different facials that you would offer as variations.  This will create the main category and then a drop down menu for it.  The only drawback to this is that if you have multiple services that people would want under the same category, they can only choose one.  So if I had a category for add-ons with multiple options, they could only select one.  Which sucks and that's something they need to fix.

I organized my services into categories but on the booking site they do not organize themselves into categories. Is this possible to have services organized by categories on booking site?

Hey @tag_humble! Welcome to the Seller Community.

I moved your post to an existing thread where another seller had the same question.

You can arrange your services as @Helen stated above, but also note you can't arrange by category like you're specifically looking for here as @nika stated above as well.

This reply was created from merging an existing thread: service categories appoitments

I have a question

I have a lot of services at my SPA

I would like to make it easy for my clients by categorized services so clients will see in booking site categories first and then will find service under the category they have chosen

Please help
