Feature Request: Schedule classes + group sessions + multiple clients during one time slot

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Use Square Appointments to schedule classes or group sessions?

Has anyone successfully used Appointments to schedule classes taught to clients/gneeral public?  Looking for tips. Thanks!

Re: apointments

Hey @exdub-

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

The ability to book group sessions or an appointment for multiple people is one of our most popular feature requests. I went ahead and moved your post over to this thread to prevent duplicates.

We do not currently have an ideal workaround to suggest. Square Appointments right now isn't optimized for group classes, events, etc. For your business, I may suggest that you use our Square Online Store instead. You will be able to list items as Events, and then sell tickets to the events per person so they can select a quantity:

Let me know if this would work as a workaround for you. Cheers!

Re: Use Square Appointments to schedule classes?

We don't currently offer class or group booking with Appointments - certainly a popular request and I know how helpful it would be for you (and many others.)

For now the only workaround I can suggest would be scheduling overlapping sessions for each client in the group/appointment. However, it's only possible for you to create overlapping appointments manually on your calendar, so this isn't something your customer's could book.

Thanks for your patience while we work to expand the features in our Appointments app. We'll definitely let you if a better solution is available in the future.

I am waiting, after speaking to square multiple times that the feature to have several customers sign up for 1 time slot is coming.  I have been told several times it is coming.  How can we ask that this feature be considered important?  I have been told by Square multiple customers are asking for it, especially in this time of COVID.

Thanks!

I am a pet sitting service as well. Was hoping to use square for my payments & calendar/appointments. But I need to be able to receive multiple pets per day as well. I will need to look for another option.

How is still not a feature Square?

Instead of making appointments for multi person classes I create an event with a set number of tickets for my class.

Ooooh, I like that workaround, @TrasitionsWorks! Thanks for bouncing here and sharing what works for you!

Our business needs multiple bookings in same slot as well. An option to choose the # of spots or seats and then let customers book however many they want. I'd love to move everything over to Square but instead I'm having to use multiple softwares...

It has been 4 1/2 years since this thread started. Is there any update on when this option becomes available? I teach classes both onsite and online. Without multiple booking capability, Square Appointments is pretty much useless to me and every other yoga, fitness, martial arts, etc. business.

It just seems such an obvious feature I'm surprised it wasn't designed into the initial version of Appointments. Isn't Square interested at all in capturing this revenue? I know people who could code this in half a day, provided the original Appointments code isn't so hardwired it would have to be entirely rewritten.

Replying to add that this service will be useful to my business as well. I need a client to be able to book an extended appt to accommodate a group that will receive services together. Thank you!

I am also in dire need of scheduling classes through appointments. I have many services that are for individuals, but I also need to offer group classes on the calendar. It is very frustrating that I have to look at so many different platforms to meet these needs. It just doesn't make sense that someone that schedules a private session should have to go to a completely different tool on my website to join a class.

I'm adding my voice to this thread even though there are already 20 pages of people asking for the same thing. I want Square to work as a one-stop shop for my Yoga business management. Currently I am tracking my class registration on Word document. (Yuck) I definitely don't want to ask people to use Square to pay and then another app to reserve the spot. I'm at risk of overselling my class spaces, due to the space being limited during the pandemic.
