Feature Request: Schedule classes + group sessions + multiple clients during one time slot

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Use Square Appointments to schedule classes or group sessions?

 

Has anyone successfully used Appointments to schedule classes taught to clients/gneeral public?  Looking for tips. Thanks!

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community. 

 

The ability to book group sessions or an appointment for multiple people is one of our most popular feature requests. I went ahead and moved your post over to this thread to prevent duplicates.

 

We do not currently have an ideal workaround to suggest. Square Appointments right now isn't optimized for group classes, events, etc. For your business, I may suggest that you use our Square Online Store instead. You will be able to list items as Events, and then sell tickets to the events per person so they can select a quantity:

We don't currently offer class or group booking with Appointments - certainly a popular request and I know how helpful it would be for you (and many others.) 

 

For now the only workaround I can suggest would be scheduling overlapping sessions for each client in the group/appointment. However, it's only possible for you to create overlapping appointments manually on your calendar, so this isn't something your customer's could book.

Thanks for your patience while we work to expand the features in our Appointments app. We'll definitely let you if a better solution is available in the future.

I work at a nail salon and many customers will book in groups of 2-3 people so everyone can get their nails done together (sometimes each with different services). Is there a way to book multiple people for the same appointment time, under one booking transaction?

 

I'm thinking like a quantity function but for services?

I am having a really hard time with set up and have not found any online resources to set up square appointments for a yoga studio.

It would make sense for Square to add fitness classes or multiple bookings in to one Time slot. The time is now to make change and I saw someone asked for this in 2016

So this is rather disappointing judging by the response for the past 4 years which is, "we hear you, we read these, we understand you need this, but it's just not a priority for US right now".

During these weird and uncertain times with Coronavirus, online education is more important than ever. The ability to use a platform that most of us have invested in and put our business on to sell classes so that we can stay in business and pay Square a fee - seems like it should be a priority.

I don't care so much about team usage. I don't care about how pretty the site is.  I - and every other person not on the square team in this thread - would like a way to make a class service.  

Much of my business is moving towards training. If Square doesn't listen to its clients and prioritize this then I'll be forced to move to another provider, which I do not want to do. I LIKE Square. I just feel like this is a bit of a one sided relationship.

I can’t believe that this thread has been going on for four years and they’re still no resolution. I have spent extra money to get the package for my team because I was almost certain if I upgraded this feature HAS to be a part of the paid upgrade. This is such an important feature for many businesses. I have been very loyal to Square but at this point your system is holding me back from professionally sending an invitation that will professionally allow people to book online. This is really disappointing and I am now spending the next three hours trying to find another company that makes this process simpler. It’s unfortunate because I really value Square in so many ways but this is hurting me my business and it doesn’t look professional.

I’ve taken 90% of my business off of Square so I no longer need this question answered. I’ve found answers elsewhere by using other services.
For everyone else waiting for an answer to this question.... It may be time for you to leave or cut back, too. Square doesn’t listen and it definitely doesn’t care about its customers’ needs.

But they sure like getting 3% of your money.
