Feature Request: Schedule classes + group sessions + multiple clients during one time slot

Has anyone successfully used Appointments to schedule classes taught to clients/gneeral public?  Looking for tips. Thanks!

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community. 

The ability to book group sessions or an appointment for multiple people is one of our most popular feature requests. I went ahead and moved your post over to this thread to prevent duplicates.

We do not currently have an ideal workaround to suggest. Square Appointments right now isn't optimized for group classes, events, etc. For your business, I may suggest that you use our Square Online Store instead. You will be able to list items as Events, and then sell tickets to the events per person so they can select a quantity:

We don't currently offer class or group booking with Appointments - certainly a popular request and I know how helpful it would be for you (and many others.) 

For now the only workaround I can suggest would be scheduling overlapping sessions for each client in the group/appointment. However, it's only possible for you to create overlapping appointments manually on your calendar, so this isn't something your customer's could book.

This is a very important feature to integrate into appointments.  Essentially this is the same functionality that exists in my google calendar to invite guests to a single event.   If I have comfirmed attendance of ten clients in a workshop or group session, I want to be able to make a single appointment that will reach all of those clients, with all the functions of Square Appointments (notifications, billing ect).  Currently, I would have to create a separate appointment with each client - something that is simply not efficient when running an event that involves mulitiple attendees/participants.

What is the status of adding the group booking feature?  You have been telling the fitness industry since 2017 it is coming and I've been a Square user for my Music studio for billing since you opened and brought you dozens of other teachers as clients, but we are all about to need to migrate to other products because what we thought was a priority 2 years ago apparently isn't.  We don't want to have to go to a different product when we like Square.  PLEASE!

Or make a way to book an event, but not take it off the calendar?  I've seen other programs do this.  I don't want to make pretend times like 1:00am just so I know they are coming when I've set the class at 11:00am.

Is there a way to add 12 available slots to each appointment time? I have a dog walking biz and I'm able to walk 12 at a time, is there a way to add 12 available 8:00 AM slots? or no?

I own a pottery studio and we offer classes for 15 at the same time. Please make the changes to allow for this . I have tried 4 different scheduling calendars and none of them are user friendly . You are the business I run my payments through and this is a problem. The missing element I need. Thank you for your consideration.

Hey everyone, I use Schedulicity for all my “classes.” It’s cheap and it connects to Square. It solves all of these string of problems listed about different studios wanting classes.

@katieand This sounds awesome, but I think the app still lacks the ability to schedule classes like a yoga instructor would need. I'm designing my wife's yoga site; we may have to sell by quantity in the Pickup Orders option for now, which would definitely not look professional. We would love to use your payments solutions. Can you confirm this Class Scheduling issue is being solved? Many tickets exist on this subject. The code should be similar, one could book multiple spots for their group of friends, but a spaces remaining and a spot on the calendar would do the trick! Recurring weekly/monthly option as well. Thanks!

I am an independent fitness instructor and it would be awesome if I could use the appointments app for my classes.  It would be simpler for me.

Thank you for your post @robynlinn, I'm really sorry it doesn't have a reply yet! 

At this time Square Appointments isn't designed for group bookings or classes. It's a really popular feature request and I can see how useful it would be when your clients are making appointments for other people.

In the meantime, as a workaround, you could ask clients to let you know who will be attending the appointments by using the note field when they make the appointment. I hope that helps a bit. We'll definitely announce it if group bookings are available in future!

Thanks for adding your post here so the Product team knows you're another seller looking for this. You can use it to schedule classes, but the clients just can't book it themselves quite yet.

Just adding that I'd love this feature too. I really need students to be able to sign themselves up for group classes/appointments.
