Can I use the Loyalty Program with Square Invoices?

So my business is mainly an online boutique soI send invoices for items purchased.  Can the loyalty program still work via invoices or does it have to be an acutal card swiped?

I thought I wanted Loyalty points on my invoices but I'm actually preferring it not to be. 

If someone pays me right away for my product/service they get the points. If they want "terms" where I invoice them for a later date or multiple payments they don't get the points.

It's nice to say "sure I can invoice you and you can make a payment over a period of time but you don't get your loyalty points!" Provides an incentive to pay in full up front.

Unfortunately, Square's Loyalty program does not integrate with Square Invoices. I absolutely see how it would be useful to have that feature on our Square Invoices.

It has been over a year since this issue was brought to light. Is there any progress? My business is only online, no need for the point of sale. I would like to see the loyalty program tied to invoices.

I would like to create a discount code that can be emailed to customers that they would be able to use when they pay a future invoice. Is this possible?

You can send a discount code by way of a email campaign using Square Marketing but I'm afraid your customer cannot redeem them with Square Invoices.

 

I'll be sure to pass your ideas to the product team for tracking. Hopefully we can implement this feature in future. Keep tabs on this thread for updates!

So now 3 years later, and during a pandemic, is there a way to give a discount code on an invoice. We are using invoices as a no contact payment option and would like to provide a discount code to a certain type of customer. 

 

 

We have started accepting orders via e-mail, then sending an invoice to the customer. When sending the invoice, it allows me to choose an existing customer from our database. If that customer is enrolled in our loyalty program, can they earn points once the invoice is paid? (we use the system of 1 point per $1 spent) Right now I have to go in and manually add points to their account.

Hi there, @pedalstation. Thanks for reaching out and checking in on this feature. The only workaround here would be what Helen suggested above - adding the discount to the Invoice before it is sent to the customer.

The fact that loyalty points and invoices are not connected to each other is completely inefficient and a poor client experience for my customers. Especially now that we are all doing more sales online, invoicing is a great way to get our clients to pay when doing FB live events, etc. However, them not being able to use their loyalty rewards when purchasing items in this way is such a bad experience. The amount of workarounds that have to occur to add their manual pts, remove pts manually when redeeming rewards, and manually adding discounts to invoices is frustrating me enough to look for an alternate system.

I merged your question here, for you to see that our invoices don't automatically sync with customers loyalty profiles. Once an invoice is paid, you'll have to go into that customer's loyalty profile and manually add points.
