Test Partial Payments in the Invoices Request Deposit Beta

Hey everyone!

I’m excited to announce that we’ve rolled out a beta for accepting partial payments with Square Invoices!

This new feature will allow you to create a single invoice and track multiple payments on that invoice. This may also be useful for those of you who want to accept a deposit and collect the rest of the amount due later.

We know this is a feature many of you have been waiting for, so I hope you’ll help us test it out!

To join the beta click 'Reply' immediately below this post, leave a comment to let me know you’re interested, and I’ll enable it for your account.

By using partial payments and providing us feedback, you will directly influence and improve the Square Invoices product. So please share your reactions and input.

Cheers,

Howard, Square Beta Team

Re: Test Partial Payments in the Invoices Request Deposit Beta - Status changed to: Implemented

Great news! This feature is now live and will be rolled out to everyone in the next week! Instructions for how to request deposits in this post.

We would love this feature.  Please include me in the beta.

Thanks

I have tried the beta app on my iPhone8.  It allowed me to request a deposit based on either a percentage or a specific amount.  I don't know but I would assume that when the customer gets the updated invoice with deposit request, there must be a link for them to submit that deposit online.  But there is not an option to accept this deposit payment by any other way, such as they mail me a check or pay in person.  The only option seems to be to accept payment for the entire total due, despite the fact that I have sent a deposit request and it lists the deposit due and the balance due.

I wish that you could have a choice to just post any payment to an existing invoice.

I would like an option to either send or NOT send an updated invoice to the customer.  Maybe I don't want them to know I am correcting or making a note to the invoice, or just testing this deposit option (I warned my customer they might get unnecessary emails.)

Hi @S3Adventures - I've merged your post with the original thread so all things regarding this topic are in one place and to keep the Community organized. Howard posted a followup (also available on the first page of this thread) which details instructions on how to join the beta. If you've already followed those steps, please keep in mind that the invitation links are being sent on a weekly basis. As you can imagine with the high volume of requests here, it may take some time for you to receive yours. Thank you for your patience.

Totally interested.
