Square reporting limitations

I'm currenlty researching other POS systems due to the limitations in square for up to date inventory reports and COGS information. The reports available are so skewed that they are unusable and require exporting to other programs to get a real time look at inventory and sales. Is there anything in the works to address these issues? I hate to leave square but there are so many other systems that are doing these reports effectively that it just might not make sense to stay.
