Is there a way for "starting" a cash drawer to automatically open the drawer?

I have a Square register with a receipt printer connected cash drawer. The drawer opens automatically after every sale with no problem, but I'm trying to understand if there's a way to have the drawer open automatically when my employees start the drawer at the beginning of the day.

Currently, when they initially log in they get the window that says to "start" the drawer with the default amount... they then confirm this, but then have to do a No Sale to get the drawer open and actually count/verify the cash. Just seems like an unnecessary step, and I'd rather not train my staff as to using a No Sale unless absolutely necessary.

Anyone know of a I setting I'm missing, should this be happening automatically, or is it not even possible?

@SilverStars - Ah I see what you mean. Unfortunately there's no setting available that pops the drawer open upon starting it. You'll need to do a no sale.

But I agree the extra steps to open the drawer seems redundant. Hopefully we can improve in this area. I'll make sure to grab a pair of eyes from the Product Team so they can track this feature request.

Hi, I'm having the same issue with not being able to open the cash drawer to count the cash to enter a starting cash amount.  If your team can please add a "Open Drawer" or "Count Drawer" button on the Starting Cash screen pop up, that would really help my operation and i'm certain a lot of others.  Also the ability for an employee to have to login on the register in order to count the drawer and set the starting cash would be great so I can see which employee opened it if there are any issues.
