Feature request: It would be nice to be able to mute customers instead of deleting them.

It would be great if Square could add a feature where we can "mute" a customer rather than delete them. we do monthly billing with square. if a customer is going inactive for a few months ( seasonal or otherwise) it would be great to have the customer be in our list  of customers, but be greyed out so we know to skip over them for invoicing purposses. I know we can do filters, but this was just a thought. Thanks

Thank you for sharing your request @jonathanderek! I'll surface this to the Invoices and Customer Directory teams.

 

You're right, filters might help but you could also use groups to organize your customers. If you arrange your customers into groups you can send an invoice from the Customers section of your online Dashboard (or the app) — rather than scrolling through a long list of customers when you start from the Invoices section. 

 

To send an invoice from the Customer Directory on your Dashboard:

  1. Click Filter to the group you'd like to view.
  2. Click on a customer's name and croll down to click the three dots in the bottom right. [...]
  3. Select Create Invoice

If muting a customer becomes a feature in future we'll post in this thread to let you know!
