Subscriptions - option not showing

For context, I am a bakery and want to set up a weekly subscription for a pickup item "Sourdough Loaf".

I've tried to follow the guide for setting up a subscription option on selected items: https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/7627-get-started-with-subscriptions-in-dashboard

However, on my Plan settings - I don't see the option to "Assign Items" and when I go into an Item setting, I don't see the subscription option at the bottom of the page...?

Any advice? Thanks!

Hello there @scsdco and welcome to the Seller Community! 👋

It looks like what you need are Square Online Subscriptions which are different from Point of Sale Subscriptions (the link you shared).

With Square Subscriptions, you can make your items subscribable and sell them on your Square Online site, enabling buyers to automatically order them on a recurring basis (e.g. monthly). Start by simply creating a subscription plan, then attaching that plan to your site item.

I hope this information is helpful!

Hi @scsdco - I'm sorry but itemized subscriptions are not yet available in Australia 😞 This is why you don't see those options. We hope to roll it out there in the coming months. I apologize for the inconvenience.

You can still create a subscription plan without it being itemized. You can create a weekly plan and assign it a price. (which it sounds like you figured that out already). After you save the plan, click on the link icon (next to the three dots) located next to the plan on the dashboard. From there you can click to "Share checkout link". Upon clicking that, you will get the pop up (included an image) where you can generate a shareable link (which you could send out via social media or text) or generate buy button text. The buy button text is HTML code that you can embed on your website. It will display a button that when clicked, will take a customer to a check-out flow to purchase the subscription.

However, this method does not track to your inventory. It just creates a simple subscription plan. Hope this helps!

Is there any news on when this [itemized subsciptions] will be rolled out in Australia yet?

We're now paying a large fee for Square Online for minimal functionality whilst still using another payment provider for all our subscribers. I would like to migrate our current subscribers onto Square, but still waiting...
