How to get appointments working on my website

Hi everyone,

I've recently decided to add equipment rental to my business.  After looking at the options, I figured that this would be best suited to be a service that I offer.  Using the service option as oppose to adding it as an item gives my much more control in terms of payments, cancellation fee and the most important aspects creating a contract with the client for terms & conditions of the rental agreement.

So I'll outline what I've done so far and hopefully somebody can assist in why it won't work?

-Created the service, which was showing on my website but no it isn't

-Created a second location so that the opening hours don't mix with my pizza service hours

-Made my opening hours 24 hours for my hire location as this is how long the rental period will be

The issue I had initially is that I could click the book appointment, select the service but then all the dates on the calendar are greyed out and can't be selected.

Not sure where to go from here? Ant help would be great.

Thank you in Advance

Hey @Backyardpizza,

Square Appointments isn't specifically designed for multi-day hire so you will find there aren't features to help manage this scenario in an elegant fashion, but if this workaround is good enough then it sounds like you might be able to use it once everything is working properly! It's not something I've seen tried before so am keen to know if it will ultimately work.

In terms of why it's not currently working as intended, I can try my best to help from here, though won't have visibility into your account setup - off the top of my head have you assigned resources to the services and made them bookable online? I'd check that your services have both of these active:

If you're OK posting a link to your Appointments website I can also take a look and see if anything stands out.

Your best bet for getting further help with the setup and why services aren't displaying is to get in touch with support if you're able to give them a call!. They will be able to look into your account setup and see what the issue is, which is something we're not able to do via our Community forum. If nothing seems to be working give them a call on 1800 760 137, 9am-5pm AEDT!

Hi Seamus,

So I've done the steps you mentioned while trying to configure it.  Should I be running a seperate website for appointments.  As currently Im trying to have it as part of my current site.  The option is there and service shows up in the tool bar on the left. but the service is not adding to the site for selection.  www.robsbackyardpizza.com.au

@Backyardpizza I'm afraid I don't have a clear answer here for you unfortunately - support is still going to be your best bet to get further help here as they will have visibility into your account settings and can check exactly how your account has been set up. It can be done, my test account is set up to be able to book at different locations from the one website, which is the one key difference I'm seeing between your Appointments website and mine. Getting your second location added to the online booking section with the assigned services is the key:

Maybe try your Appointments settings via Online Booking > Channels and make sure they're both turned on:

Let me know if that works!
