re: adding "shop all" to my webpage

i've already deleted everything and started over...twice... but how do you delete the categories? and now my main banner has disappeared -- i've made websites before -- i've watched a few how to videos here -- am i now on page two? where is page one? it says it's the 'home' page --

i want to add the "shop all" to the first page of my website under the main banner -- but in the meantime i am re-adding my physical items -- why does each item seem to make it's own 'page'? i want about a dozen products on the first page -- short & sweet -- no bueno, amigos and amigas

why is this so hard?

previously, i choose a 'featured category" layout and i chose one with four fields and i only got two to work with -- i've spent a lot of time on this -- wow --

if anyone has any wisdom, i'm all ears -- thanks

HI, hopefully these can help.

1) Categories.  Online Dashboard, Items, Site Categories, hover over selected Category, select 3 dots far right, popup, select Delete.

2) Shop All. Online Dashboard, Website, Edit Site, click Page: Home, hover over Shop All, click 3 dots, popup, select Make This My Homepage.

3) Retail Format Template.  Website is multiple pages, each item has its own page.

4) Restaurant Format Template.  Website is one page with popup menu items.

5) How to switch your template.  

Online Dashboard, Website, Edit Site, click Page: Home, hover over Shop All, click 3 dots, popup, select Switch Templage

i am doing much better -- in the 'preview' you only see the one open page you are working on -- you have to use the special "share" link to see the whole thing -- it's been maddening to have my main banner keep disappearing hahaha -- oh deliver me! 

but yes doing better -- but where are all the descriptions of each item? they did not appear when i clicked on the picture of the item? i listed them as one "shop" page --
 so how do i get the descriptions on there-- they are already written into each item with additional pictures too that also don't come up --

terri, y'know how there's different places to do the same thing? i just stumbled on a "add a shop page" somewhere on my travels -- it wasn't exactly the "shop all" i had originally been after -- but avoiding MENU items and just using plain ITEMS has been extremely helpful, led to better success -- and the descriptions showed up somehow --
