I want to connect my store to Pinterest. I've claimed my domain and installed the tag. Does anyone know how I connect my catalog? I need a product feed URL and I'm not sure where to find it or what to do next. I wish there were instructions for the limited integrations that we have.

The problem is that Pinterest can’t ingest this data for the catalogue.
I even downloaded the CSV and created a new page embedded the Excel file, I got the message we cannot accept HTML
I can do Export the CSV and it does say it recommends for automated transfer the problem I’m stuck with and it’s confusing Pinterest help desk is that inputting the URL for this action is not working. Can you help or advise please?
without a URL where Pinterest can ingest the data source I cannot connect my catalogue.
I chose Square because Pinterest recommends the platform as being a 3rd party who can assist with uploading the catalogue.
The whole thing is so frustrating and I’ve learnt a lot of tech language in the process but as yet I can’t fix this !!!
I do so want to hear from Square users who have achieved this.
if you have an answer Valentina I would be so grateful please!

Have you tried editing down the CSV to be sure that you avoid including any information Pinterest is unable to ingest, like the HTML @AlisonK? We also recommend reaching out to our Support team by phone if you need more hands-on assistance editing your file!
Please reach out by phone or email when you have a moment by logging into your Square account and heading here.

I tried everything and eventually both help desks told me it’s not possible to do this with Square and Pinterest. They changed the help guides too after I complained and they no longer recommend Square. Gutted because I spent hours and hours and hours

did you ever have any luck? I am in the same boat and have gotten no where. I called support, and they were pretty much useless and unable to help me at all.
I am thinking this just isn't possible with Square, one of their shortcomings. Would love someone to prove me wrong and offer a solution.
I spent hours with many google searches, reading of help articles and nothing worked.
It should not be this hard,
I understand it is a click of the mouse with other platforms.

Hello, it’s not good news I’m afraid ! I finally got a message from support to say they would not change their platform to accommodate Pinterest…
Pinterest eventually changed their how to and took Square off the list..
I wasted over a hundred hours going round and round and have since begun to rebuild on a new platform where there is a plug in for data source feed. I’m keeping fingers crossed that works.
The data source ingestion from URL now that they won’t accept a Google drive direct download seems to be reserved for big business who have their own server and a tech team to make it work (I also spent quite a while on the phone to a company selling servers who explained why Square et al were not able to make this work.
I found customer services / help desks to be even more confused than I was in the end..
Sorry to be pessimistic I would be happy to be proved wrong..

This does not work. It is not just a .csv file that is required, but a URL link to this csv file, specifially the following:
Hosted on an external site with metadata formatted in English
If it was as easy as exporting a .csv file, I would have had this done weeks ago, as I am sure all the others here would have as well.
At this point, I am thinking the best option may be to switch to Shopify, they have a one step integration, and great customer service and help. so far this is the best solution I have been offered in weeks.
did anyone else come up with anything that actually works with square?

Hello, I came to Square from Shopify because I struggled with their site too although it’s worth googling their community because although it’s more than one click some have managed it.

did you ever find a solution? I have spent so many hours on this, and the only thing I have found so far is to switch from Square to Shopify. I will likely do this for a host of reasons, but not until after the holiday season. hoping there is another way, keeping my current store with square.

I have started to build a WP site with an integrated woo commerce template and hope that the CTX plug in for data source really does work as they promise..

What does WP stand for? I tried today and I realized there just wasn’t enough instruction on how to link the two effectively. I love things about square but it’s making me rethink if I want to transfer everything to another platform with more options.

More than a year after you have posted this and I am still trying to get Pinterest integrated.. I have tried, waited, called support and now they are just telling me it “is not available at this time.” But I’m told that it has been noted that this would be of interest to merchants. So frustrating. I am considering leaving square over this issue since they appear to have no intentions of addressing it.

Hey there @TheHerbBar,
Sorry for the confusion here. Integrations at Square are owned by the integrator. In this case, Pinterest would be responsible for developing and maintaining its integration. Square APIs are currently working without inconvenience so if the Pinterest integration is currently not working correctly they would have to work with our Engineers to report what is wrong with it.
I hope this information is helpful in understanding why is difficult for us to integrate Pinterest or make it work from our side.

Hey, did anyone find a solution for this? Is it a definite no? I am trying to become a verified merchant on pinterest and cant do that until I connect my product feed URL. I can down load the CSV file etc but that doesn't give me a link. Just wandering if this is still unavailable on square? If so...sort it out square people. This is something so simple that would make it so much easier for other small businesses to load their catalogues to.

I was never able to get it to work with Square. I spoke with both Square and Pinterest customer service and it was not available at the time. I eneded up moving to Shopify (for this reason and others), and it was super easy to set up. Square is continually improving, so hopfeully one day this integration will be possible.

Hey! I have a solution if you have Wix. I downloaded the Wix app called "Pinterest Feed." They provided me the .csv URL to copy and paste into Pinterest. About 12 hours later, my catalog was fully connected.
It was free to get the URL. However, my best guess is that you have to pay their subscription fee to keep the catalog automatically updated without you having to do anything. But nothing is stopping you from getting a new link every week or whatever yourself to add new pins. Maybe that would create duplicate pins of what is already created but I don't know if that's a bad thing...Anyways, it's kind of a funky workaround and I don't know why they give the URL for free if they're a subscription service but for me it did the trick.
