Want to process a Manual charge...screen says "Register needs access to your microphone to swipe

I am trying to process a manual payment on the Square Register from my iPad and it will not let me into the Register.

Instead it shows a screen: 

"Register needs access to your microphone...In order to swipe payment cards with your Square Reader, Register must have access to the microphone connection that is built into your headphone jack. 

From your Settings app. please visit Privacy > Microphone to enable access, then relaunch Register."

I don't WANT to swipe a card, I just want to manually enter the Card Number, etc.....  

Can anyone tell me how to work through this?

@Denise79 I know it may seem a little counter-intuitive but even if you are only manually entering the credit card, you will need to enable the permission for microphone access. We don't have the option to enable the app for only manually entry as we only release one version of the app to everyone. 

If you do not have anything plugged in to the headphone jack, we will not be using the microphone access but you will need to enable the permission to use the Square App.

Actually....it was a non-responsive screen with no instructions or prompts on how to enable the microphone! 

Anyhow...I powered off my ipad....turned it back on and the Square Register came back up...and I have been able to do manual sales again.
