Good afternoon
I am setting up to use Square Virtual Terminal (UK) to process my telephone orders only.
I have set up the items but cannot find anywhere to set up shipping costs.
Is there a weight based option for use with the Virtual Terminal?
How is shipping entered?
Your help would be most appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

I have a range of shipping costs set up as items so I just select one from the itemised list.

Thank you for your reply, I was wondering if that was the only solution.
My shipping costs are all different as the products are weight based and there is a choice of different couriers etc, so I was hoping the shipping would be calculated when adding the different items.
Might have to create a spread sheet with all different weights and costs as reference, if setting up as an item is the only solution.
Thanks again.

Would it be feasible to simplify your shipping to use fewer carriers. I use Royal Mail only and find them competitive. I obviously don’t know your business so this is just a suggestion to make your shipping setup easier.

Hey @GW25, welcome aboard the Seller Community!
It's not currently possible to set up shipping if you are taking payments using the Virtual Terminal, as shipping is only available on Square Online. This is considered a Feature Request. I'll make sure to pass it on to our team for visibility and consideration.
The best workaround would be to do what @tonydow (thank you!) suggested above and create an item named shipping, make it variably priced, and add that to the order.
If you need items in your library with flexible pricing, you can create variably priced items.
To create a variably priced item, follow the same steps to create an item but leave the amount field blank. This allows you to enter an amount during a sale. The amount you enter will be applied to the current transaction and will not save to the item in your library; each sale amount for the item will remain unique. You'll then be able to enter the amount of the shipping when completing the order.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for the welcoming me aboard the Seller Community.
Would be great if a weight based shipping option was available for the Virtual Terminal, thank you for passing it onto your team.
Good to know about the variably pricing option, though my products have a fixed retail price so I think the logical way to go forward is Tony's option setting all shipping costs as different items after creating a spread sheet with the variation of items/weights to select the correct pricing.
Thank you for your help, I thought I was missing something on the set up of the items so your reply is much appreciated.

Thank you for your help and suggestion Tony.
I do currently use Royal Mail, it's more the time consuming job of working out the pricing for all the different products and variations e.g 1 purchased, 8 purchased, different weights/products etc then the different prices for 1st, 2nd Class, 24-48 hour tracked etc.
My customers will expect the shipping costs to be the same for telephone orders and when they purchase online through my website which is worked out automatically by a weight based set up.
I do appreciate your advice, many thanks.
