UPC digit limit

When going to start creating barcodes square shows it is limited to 14 digits? Is there a way to have this increased? I have been in chat help for about 2 hours and keep getting a run around.

The reason I ask is that I sell comic books and the barcodes can go up but not limited to at least 17 digits.

This 12-digit UPC code identifies the sale of one title by one publisher. What differs from one issue of the comic to another is the barcode on the right. This barcode is referred to as the periodical (bar)code or issue supplemental and identifies the issue, the cover, and the printing.

When you say there is a 14 character UPC limit by Square, did you try using the UPC field and not the GTIN field?

Look how long of a UPC I use.

Sometimes when I scan a barcode it asks if I want it as a UPC or GTIN.  GTIN has to be a certain length and only numbers.  As you can see my SKU is actually about 25 Characters long.  I read before, Square limits the SKU to 40 characters if I remember correctly but QuickBooks Limits a SKU to 30 characters which is what I try to stay under.  

So try entering your Longer barcodes in as a SKU not a GTIN.  Square will read all the numbers but may not format it or read it as Periodical code but it will print it on the receipt.  As you see my SKU even has Spaces in it that my 2D barcodes embed in the barcode.  I am not sure if your example has a space in the barcode or just displays a space.
