I am a service based company where customers pay online but wanting them to be able to tip our team once they are onsite? So the only transaction would be accepting 3 or 4 tip options and maybe a “other amount” option. Can I do this on a terminal or do I need iPad?

@Marcia2 You could do it with either one. I think for you, you would have to set up an item called Tip/Gratuity and either leave the amount blank or have set amount variations, etc. You can set it to no tax or taxed if that is your state's laws. For the accounting side of it, you will have to manually adjust this, but it will be really simple to see the amount since you can pull up a report for this item. It will be up to you to do the payroll side of things this way.
Hope this helps,
