Hello! I am totally new to this system and have a quick question:
I am planning on opening a small Online Store front on Square using the free platform.
I will be selling a $10 product that has a $15 flat rate shipping charge for a total of $25 per sale.
A) True or False:
When a sale is made, the only charge I will incur from Square will be 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction.
So, in the above example, the only charge from Square will be
72.5¢ for the product + shipping
+ 30.0¢ addional Square fee
= $1.02 1/2¢ per transaction
B) Does Square apply the same 2.9% rate to any (state) taxes for taxable transactions? For instnace, if the above transaction had a 7% state tax on the item, would I have to pay Square an additional $0.02 for the 7% tax on the $10 product cost?
Thank you!!

Hi @DecoDean, welcome to Square!
The answer to both of your questions is yes. The Square percentage applies to everything: item price, tax on the item and shipping.
Your calculations look sound. Of course, there will be rounding with some transactions due to franctions of cents.
Cheers, Max

Thank you Max! Sorry for the ultra late response...the project went into darkness for a few months!
