Square USB Hub not picking USB devices

Hi Community

 

Anyone else having issues with Square USB Hub not picking up barcode and usb cash draw recently?

 

I have a Square Terminal with a USB hub which has barcode scanner and usb cash draw attached and they have stopped working.

 

Have have turned hub off from power source and tried my phone charger cable and it does not charge. Tried different usb ports on hub still nothing. Square have sent me a replacement 2 weeks ago as same thing happened to original one.

Hey @SAAUTO, thanks for flagging this here. 

 

That does sound odd - just to confirm, it's not that the scanner is not reading the barcode, it's that the barcode and scanner are not connecting to the Terminal because there is no life coming from the hub, twice? 

 

Is there anything in your environment may have damaged the hub/frayed the cables? Have you reached out to customer support about the second hub not working? 

 

I know you tested with your phone charger but I'd suggest doing a factory reset of the Terminal and testing it all again just to be sure, instructions here.

Terminal reset and plugged scanner in PC and that works fine so issue with HUB. Square support sending replacement hub but delay in factory.....

There shouldn't be any issues with the new hub once it reaches you.
