Setting up online ordering for multiple locations with different menus

Hello, I own two coffee shops of the same brand, managed under the same Square account. The two locations have different menus- some similarities but substantial differences. Before I go through the trouble of setting up a Square site for online ordering, I would like to know how different menus are managed within the system. From what I can find, it looks like all of the items created on my account will be listed together on the website and the customer will choose between the two locations at check-out? Am I missing something? That's a very cumbersome & confusing method of ordering for customers who are typically already set on the location they'll visit before they order. I am sure this has been asked and answers, but I have looked for a simple explanation and have had no luck. Thank you.

Good morning. I believe you are correct.

We have a food truck and manage multiple locations within our square/weebly setup.

somacatering.square.site

We have separate pages pointing to our location. For example, somacatering.com/legitimus is where we will be today.

Thankfully, they are not open at the same time. So we manage our location hours so that customers are not presented with a selection of locations like you identified. There is only one open with the same items at any time. Doesn't sound like that will work for you.

Another option might be to duplicate items so that an item is only sold at one location. This might be a viable alternative if your menu is not very dynamic. We change our food truck menus on regular basis so not great for us. Might also make reporting more complicated if you want to look at same item across your two locations.

I think your question/feedback is really worthwhile to think about to improve the system.

Pete

What was your solution? I have a similar issue. I would like customers to be able to order both catering and take out using our online system, but what is available for catering is not the same as what is available for catering. I assumed I could 'point' anyone who selected catering to one set of items, and customers who select "take out" to a different set of items. No?
