I am familiar with creating contracts. The problem I am having is that square automatically sends the contract out every time a client books. I want to know if there is a way to only send a contract the first time a client books, and then never again.

A contract being sent automatically at time of first booking (and only the first) would be a feature request at this time, @T-pin.
I've gone ahead and bubbled this feedback up to our Appointments team ✨
We'll be sure to post an update here if one becomes available!

Hi there @JordynWarren92 thanks for your patience while awaiting my reply. Additionally, welcome @iCarla 👋
I was able to get more information on this from the Square Appointments Team. They've let me know that we are actually improving the Appointment + Contract integration at the moment and are planning to release this feature next year. This will resolve the issues of sending a contract for people who have already signed it before, sending a contract for specific services only, and being able to easily see which contacts are attached to an appointment.
I hope this information is helpful but please do let us know if you have any additional questions. Always happy to help!

Hello @JORDYNWARREN92,
Stopping by to provide an update on the previous post and conversation you had with _ALANAH regarding contracts as our product managers have provided us with more details.
The ability to have a contract sent only to customers who haven’t yet signed the form (aka send to customers once) will be released by April 2022 (no exact date yet). In the meantime, we highly encourage you to join the Beta Community where you can get early access to this feature.
Additionally, the team is releasing the ability to send specify which contracts should be sent for certain services by April 2022. This feature is now available for early access if you join the Beta Community.
Thanks for your patience and for voicing your request as this is always helpful to our product team in order to better understand the needs of our sellers.
Have a good day 😃!

Next year? Like 2023? I’m leaving Square. This is a very basic feature that Vagaro and Squire both have.
Appointments is far behind other software companies.

Hi @_Violet
Thank you for your reply.
Quick question, is there a way currently to limit or disable the reminder notifications that existing clients I have manually sent contracts to (not thru booking appointments) are receiving?
Thank again!

Jumping in for Violet on this one, @iCarla -
Reminder notifications are automatically sent to your customers until the contract is signed or cancelled, so it would be a Feature Request.
You don't have control over these automated settings.

@iCarla -
This is something I would take care of on my end. I have already tagged them and escalated it over for their review.
Once there is more information available, one of our Community Moderators will post a Product Update in the Community.

Hi Violet,
Upon modifying my current contracts, I noticed a pop up that stated that contracts are now available to add to specific services. The method to go about this is not clear, however. Can you help me attach a contract to a specific service, please?
Thank you,
Jinelle

Hi there @Jinelle - Thanks for reaching out 👋😊
I'm happy to help but will need some more detail in order to better understand your question.
Are you wanting to set up a contract tied to a specific service for each time this service is booked, no matter who is the client?
Or would this be a contract sent to a specific client, based on their own booked services?
Please let me know and I'll keep an eye out for your reply!

I’m hoping to send out a health history form, which I only need to send to clients once before I see them the first time. After that I don’t need to send it. I wanted something that would send automatically, for anyone who hasn’t filled one out before. Hope that better describes it.

Hey there @LilacSpa
At this time this would be considered a feature request. I will make sure to pass it over to our product team for their visibility and consideration when working on future updates.

This is very sad. I run a photography business where I have repeat clients. They DO NOT LIKE to sign each and every time I send them an invoice. I came over to Square to get this streamlined and it is NOT resolving the issue that I came here for. I am better off going back to Adobe Sign for my contracts and then do my estimates, invoice and appointments through the free tools that I was using. Sure, it is more steps for me, but I am not going to keep annoying my customers.

Hello!
I'm experiencing the same issue. I'd love to only send a contract once to my clients, so that for future bookings they need not complete extraneous paperwork.
